You can't. Once its there, it'll remain on your postbit for 7 days, then it'll remove. But mods and admins can still see your warning points via your profile.

They expire at a certain point in time. Different warnings have different lengths for which they can last (from what I remember from modding).

Its technically 7 days though, but the count starts for when you get the warning points, and after 7 days that many warning points will be removed.

I'll take your word for it cos I can't remember exactly. I have a feeling some lasted longer but I might be wrong.

Some larger warnings last for longer, 10 & 15 pointers can last for up to 14 days.

Also OP, if you want to appeal against your warning points, you can do so by posting in Ask a mod forum, although I think this possibly has rarely happened.

It's not quite clear what you mean by "rarely happened"... certainly we regularly get queries in Ask A Moderator to explain why a warning has been issued, and where appropriate it's quite possible for a warning to be reversed.

meant that by having points removed via AAM.

    Take Fleur out for dinner.

(I have had points removed, though not via this method).

With fairly recent changes to the warning system, all 10 and 15-point warnings now last 14 days, rather than the weird mix we had before where some lasted 14 days, some lasted 7 and one lasted 10. So offences that are deemed to be serious enough to warrant such warnings get a warning not only larger in size but also larger in duration.

Ah cool I did wonder if that was still the case.

Are the 1 point warnings still only 3 days or has that been standardised to 7?

Neither - we don't have 1-point warnings any longer

All warnings are now standardised at 2, 5 or 10 points - or 15 for those severe cases that merit an immediate temporary ban. Much tidier, IMO. The odd cases like 7-pointers never really made much sense!
