Swollen Jaw on left side of face, what could it be?
Over the last few days I've had a chesty cough, followed shortly by a sore throat. Yesterday whilst having a wash I looked in the bathroom mirror to find the left side of my face, the jaw area swollen and the left side of my face looked to be sticking out between half an inch more than that of the right side of my face.

So far the pain has not been terrible, in fact I've had the rare shooting pain across my jaw, I also feel slight pain when eating , and talking as well.

I'm worried because last month my Brother was in terrible agonizing pain , his jaw had swollen and he had pain in the whole right side of his face, the pain he experienced spread from his jaw area and ear. He suffered with it for approx a week, the walk in center diagnosed him with something beginning with Pro????, and I fear i may have the same diagnosis, besides this what else could it be? could the pain get worse, I just went to ASDA and bought Aspirin and cough medicine and strepsils.

Probably a form of muscular cancer. I would get that checked asap.

    Probs an Abscess then.

Dont leave it like I did and need root canal.
