First GCSE in 3 days-when shall i start revising?
Ok well my first GCSE exam is on Monday so when shall i start revising for it. Will one day each be sufficient for me to get my A*s? Also for some subjects we haven't covered the syllabus and have to self teach (e.g. sciences + english) so how many days shall i leave to learn these subjects?
Thanks. -

You should really start revising NOW! Frantic last minute revision can leave you feeling worried, and confidence is key in exams. If you don't like sitting there and reading the textbook and taking notes, I suggest do some past papers so your not caught off guard by the type of question in the exam.

For any subject you need to self teach I suggest leaving more time to revise- I had to self teach all of Unit 1 to myself for all 3 scinces and it takes longer than you think! -

you have to revise for months! :O
but well, anyway, better late than never. try looking for some past papers, and mull over the concepts when you sleep! last minute rush is never a solution..even einstein used more than one day to get his theories straight. maybe when you get to GCE you really have to work hard every day. but for now, just concentrate on what youre about to get in your exam!

Although you should have revised before, I have to admit I do it a lot too and I still got the grades I wanted (A*) also about the self teaching I think it is a little late but nevertheless not impossible so as long as you understand key concepts and are able to explain you'll be fine. I have to self teach unit 3 of all the science, maths (gcse and a level) and history AS too, I started a few weeks ago.
good luck!

Re: First GCSE in 3 days-when shall i start revising?
Ok thanks. The self teaching ones i'm not too worried about because of my past results I don't need that good in these exams to finish with an A* overall. Also although i was expected 11A*s I know I'm not going to get them all anyway because of my controlled assessment marks. I'm much better with exams than controlled assessments... I got Ds in my French ones and low band 3s-4s in my english.
Also why have so many people thumbed me down? I'm just asking for when to start...
EDIT: Oh yeah, is the exam on Monday a real exam or not? It's May Day and my class were told we have to go in to do some GCSE Physics and Biology experiment and practical assessment or something. I don't seem to see anybody having this and my mum told me you don't have anything on Bank Holidays?Last edited by user1-4; 05-05-2012 at 13:09. -
Re: First GCSE in 3 days-when shall i start revising? If it's a practical assessment for science it'll be your ISA (it's like coursework for science so yes you will need to do it).(Original post by user1-4)

People are thumbing you down because you've been silly. Why would you think that you could get away with only revising the night before? You should start revising now! You should have been revising weeks ago. I hope you do well but you've really made it difficult for yourself. -
Re: First GCSE in 3 days-when shall i start revising?I'm sure you'll be fine. If you've been achieving A*s in previous examinations, then keep up the good work and aim for productive revision as opposed to cramming day in day out. Good luck.(Original post by user1-4)

Re: First GCSE in 3 days-when shall i start revising?in all seriousness i did that for chemistry and maths and got an A* in each, though yes this is a clear troll, for one exams start in like 2 weeks.(Original post by izpenguin)
I find It hard to believe that someone seriously thinks one day of revision is enough to get an A*. Or that they would be self-teaching for an exam this summer and hasn't started yet.
I'm guessing this is

Re: First GCSE in 3 days-when shall i start revising? You have an exam on Bank Holiday Monday-sounds like a troll to me and you should've started revising a lot earlier than one day before an exam(Original post by user1-4)
