Re: ********* examiner failed me for a stupid reason.Don't be too angry, unfortunately you can't do anything about it. But even if you did 11 minors it is not right to find something to fail you for (which it sounds like for me). I guess not all driving teachers are like that. But I knew to of my friends were as unlucky to get somebody who they sensed would make them fail later on. In Germany we have an "unspoken" rule that nobody usually drives longer than 45 minutes. My friend was at 55 already, because the driving instructor was still finding something to let her fail then. Something totally useless, not understandable why. At least you have your grading of minors and majors, in Germany they can just decide on their own.(Original post by TrueUnitedFan)
Hi, Just had my test and i failed, 11 minors, and 1 serious, for reverse parking on a hill.
Basically, I was on a hill, doing the reverse parell parking I did the parking fine, and at the end of the test, the examiner failed me because I was going to close to the car and he said I was going to hit the car and he was going to put his foot break down (if i was going into the car, why didn't he put his foot down?) my car wasn't going near the car at all.
I was wondering do I stand a chance of an appeal going in my favour? It's crazy, for the full 45 minutes, my driving was fine, and I wasn't in any serious situations where I could of get a serious for.
The thing is my driving was fine, and he's a liar saying I was going to go into the car, If I was, why didn't he step in? It's just ******** reserving, he could of passed me and said, listen, go back and practice my parking, but the thing is... I DID THE PARKING FINE!!!!
It's just madness, to fail for this, when nothing serious happened is crazy, Im so angry and ****** off.
I had a very bad dirivng teacher as well, I guess that is why I can understand you so well, it is certainly not worth it. Try to focus on the fact that it was not your inability to drive, but something else and try to improve your driving till the next test.
Also, I see so many people on the road today who make terrible and stupid mistakes. I always ask myself how they can be soo strict on your driving test then? Oh well, if I were you I'd try to calm down and always remember that that incident was not your fault

Re: ********* examiner failed me for a stupid reason. And you can say that for 100% certainty how?(Original post by helen-a-ravenclaw)
That's nonsense. There isn't any 'target' they have to meet for passes and fails in a month. -
Re: ********* examiner failed me for a stupid reason.
Its one of those things, learner drivers do it a lot. They describe how much of a good driver they were yet they still failed the test. And you wonder how the hell they failed if they're such a good driver.
When you finally get in the car with them you witness first hand their erratic driving and you say to yourself no wonder they failed.
A lot of people like the OP are delusional about their driving, thinking that they're better drivers than they really are!
Same thing happens in X factor, people come for the audition honestly believing they have a good voice when they obviously don't. -
Re: ********* examiner failed me for a stupid reason.Bitter much?(Original post by Clarkeful)
Thats crazy they should only fail you if they have to literally use the brakes or touch the steering wheel
sounds to me like what everyone knows
"they can only pass a certain amount of people per day"
PRIC*S!
Just because you've completed a test route without the examiner having to grab the wheel or slam on the brakes doesn't mean you're automatically entitled to a pass. You can fail for doing things procedurally wrong too. Also, missing lumps of metal by a whisker or by sheer luck only downgrades the fault from a dangerous to a serious, but near-misses are still wrong and unsafe.
The safest drivers on the road (and those who pass first time) are the ones who recognise their own weaknesses, accept expert criticism and adapt accordingly. Those who blame everybody else but themselves or even try to blame "quotas" will never pass a test or be truly safe because they never think they do a thing wrong. Just like the bad X-factor auditions that a previous poster mentioned. -
Re: ********* examiner failed me for a stupid reason.
I took my driving test on Tuesday, and made a mistake I was sure I was going to fail for, but was passed.
The incident was I was approaching a crossroads controlled by traffic lights. The lights were on green, I was approaching at about 25mph (mistake #1 - approaching too fast). There was another car opposite, who was stopped behind the stop line, even though the lights were on green. For some reason, this didn't register (mistake #2), so I started my right hand turn, but then the other car suddenly pulled away, straight on, and straight into my path. I did an emergency stop (just a fraction of a second before the examiner did the emergency stop for me).
I was sure that would be marked as a serious or even possibly a dangerous. At the debrief, I was pleasantly surprised to find I'd passed. The examiner commented that the reason he only gave me a minor for that, was that we did two other right turns at traffic light controlled crossroads, both of which were done without error, and also that I recognised the imminent danger and did the emergency stop myself, so he gave me the benefit of the doubt.
