French Revolution - Significance of Robespierre
Doing AQA AS History - French revolution, and struggling to understand the significance of Robespierre.

I get that he was a Jacobin and a member of the CPS, but what makes him so significant?

hey did this unit last year so from what i can remember:

He was expected to provide a link between the middle-class Jacobins and sans-culottes. He had no desire to protect the innocent if it meant dangerous enemies escaped. Under his influence, the CPS was prepared to take decisive, radical steps. basically he further radicalised the revolution and swayed to the left

    hope this helps
