Re: Usain Bolt race row?My bad. But, I don't think a big deal would be made out of it if a white guy was dating a black women in the UK (even though it's statically unlikely) yet if it's reverse it's somehow based on racism or some****.(Original post by doggyfizzel)
He still resides in Jamaica, he lives in Kingston. He trains in Jamaica, his girlfriend lives in Jamaica. The idea he is statistically more likely just isn't true.
Not that there is anything wrong with it. IMO.Last edited by Annoying-Mouse; 05-05-2012 at 18:44. -

I guess it's appropriate that Usain Bolt is involved in race row.
Hells yeah.
Surprising it took this long.
Its just kind of bad for Jamaican girls. It might not even be true but the perception he is dating her because she is white pretty harmful. I'm sure he's pretty much the most eligible bachelor in Jamaica, pick of the girls.(Original post by ebam_uk)
I guess Usain Bolt is now the equivalent of a Prince in Jamaica, typically he would be seen as a role model... what will all those young black boys of jamaica grow up thinking...
( I get a "white gf") not that there is anything wrong with this.
As I said I'm not sure its even just a white thing. My gran for example from the Caribbean. Dad marries a white Brit, pissed. Uncle marries a white Italian, pissed. Other Uncle marries a Jamican, still pissed. Its a heritage thing. -
Re: Usain Bolt race row?Surprised the race row is still on-going.(Original post by geetar)
I guess it's appropriate that Usain Bolt is involved in race row.
Hells yeah.
Normally it takes him under 10 seconds. -
Re: Usain Bolt race row?As I said, you think nothing would be said of Prince Harry dating a black girl? No stir caused? Its even worse in this case because of the suggestion it comes from an inferiority complex rather than just outright choice. You have to remember he is probably Jamaica's most famous person and most eligible bachelor.(Original post by Annoying-Mouse)

Re: Usain Bolt race row?Black girls who think like you annoy me so ****ing much. Why do you have to look so deeply into it, can't you just accept that some black guys just find white women more attractive than black women, and that's understandable.(Original post by Ebuwa)
I KMTd when I read this, what a suprise. Just like Black footballers in the UK.

I don't think the Jamaican people are being 'racist' (let's really think about the definition of that word before we throw it around), rather they're questioning Bolt's motives and how black men are being raised in society today. Their point of view is that who's betting when Bolt was younger and before he became rich and famous, he dated black women. Now he's made something of himself, it appears black women aren't good enough. And it's not just famous black men, it's black men in general. There's issues around dating white girls instead of black girls because black women are too 'demanding' and 'high maintenence' and light skinned women being deemed more attractive than dark skinned women and it's really sad. Black men are being conditioned into thinking that either light skinned, mixed race or white women are better options than the beautiful, intelligent black women out there. If his girlfriend is a good woman then great. I just hope he's not based his partner selection on race.

It's fine as long as doesn't date a girl because of a stereotype
google is your friend here(Original post by ckingalt)
TBH she is far hotter than any Jamaican women I can think of. I wouldn't say he suffers form a "white woman complex". I'd say he suffers from a hot woman complex.

Here have a look. I reversed the context by switching all the gender and race references in your post from male to female and black to white. My changes are in bold, the rest is unchanged. Do you still not think this attitude is not prejudiced?
I don't think saying white women should not date black men is being 'racist' (let's really think about the definition of that word before we throw it around), rather they're questioning these white women's motives and how they are being raised in society today. Their point of view is that who's betting that they are only dating black men because they think they're exotic. Suddenly they want to rebel against their daddy and white guys are't good enough. And it's not just rebellious white girls, it's white girls in general. There's issues around dating black men instead of white men because white men are too 'boring and uptight' and dark skinned men being deemed more attractive than light skinned men and it's really sad. White women are being conditioned into thinking that either dark skinned, mixed race or black men are better options than the beautiful, intelligent white men out there. If her boyfriend is a good man then great. I just hope she's not based her partner selection on race.
