What is this thread about? A comment on a newspapers site? Lol.

Nothing to say he isn't banging a load of Jamaican women too as I reckon he will have the stamina.

Where did the saying opposites attract come from? If you find someone sexy you find em sexy that is all :getmecoat:

God, this is ridiculous. How can it be that in today's society people still give a damn about the colour of someone's partner? Ludicrous. And this seems like the Mail, as per usual, trying to create a storm in a teacup - some of those comments seem sardonic/tongue in cheek to me.

On the Daily Fail website, that comment got 665 thumbs down and got you negged.

But you can keep telling yourself that isn't racist but if a white person said that you'd be first to cry racism. But I guess 'black men dating white women is harmful to the black community'. And these 'self hate issues exhibited by mostly black men need to be dealt with urgently'.

Lol I've seen these arguments hundreds of times.

U just jelly that you'll never be able to date the future king of Jamaica.

U wanna cry like this? :cry2:
Its nto harmful to the Black community. You don't experience what I experience , thank you very much. He is not king of Jamaica? So your point is?

But people who reject black women because of media stereotypes are caring about the colour of their partner.

I KMTd when I read this, what a suprise. Just like Black footballers in the UK.

A comment left on the site summed on my view on this

I don't think the Jamaican people are being 'racist' (let's really think about the definition of that word before we throw it around), rather they're questioning Bolt's motives and how black men are being raised in society today. Their point of view is that who's betting when Bolt was younger and before he became rich and famous, he dated black women. Now he's made something of himself, it appears black women aren't good enough. And it's not just famous black men, it's black men in general. There's issues around dating white girls instead of black girls because black women are too 'demanding' and 'high maintenence' and light skinned women being deemed more attractive than dark skinned women and it's really sad. Black men are being conditioned into thinking that either light skinned, mixed race or white women are better options than the beautiful, intelligent black women out there. If his girlfriend is a good woman then great. I just hope he's not based his partner selection on race.

I have noticed that a lot of black sportsmen are with white women but that probably is down to the circles they are in once they become famous. I don't think there are many black women in these circles so they are going to be with white women and there is nothing wrong with that.
Black women need to stop feeling hurt by this, there are plenty of good men in the world so don't get hung up on a few. Notice I said men you don't have to be with a man because he is of the same race.

TBH she is far hotter than any Jamaican women I can think of. I wouldn't say he suffers form a "white woman complex". I'd say he suffers from a hot woman complex.
You obviously can't think of many Jamaican women.

Although, i couldn't care if she was white, black, yellow or orange.

My point is he should be able to date who he wants without this negative, over the top backlash. I mean black girls like you and my mother are merely speculating. You don't know the true motives for him dating this woman considering that you haven't even met him in real life, let alone spoken to him before I assume? And who I have to remind you is also a human being like me and you, she bleeds red like the rest of us. She's not another specie or anything. So just stop your nonsense seriously.

Who cares who he dates? Who cares who anyone dates? He clearly likes her, so it's nobody else's business. He had a black gf when he was still famous, so I don't see the reason for the uproar. There's nothing wrong with interracial dating, IMO, so long as you don't rule out your own race or others. As for 'snowbunny', to coin a phrase, SMH.

    Re: Usain Bolt race row?
Everyday we (black people) are being attacked whether you choose to acknowledge it or not by those in power so I will defend myself. One of the MAIN two ways to defend yourself imo as a minority of people is keeping the numbers up/reproducing and economically circulating the wealth in whatever form it takes amongst us and not outside.

I don't know why I was browsing through OK magazine last week when I went dentist but I decided to look through Richard Branson's daughter's wedding pictures. Not that I was looking for it but I NEVER saw a single black person. I'm not saying there should be but the point is powerful/high net worth/rich groups be it white/Chinese/Indian/jews etc DON'T MARRY OUTSIDE/REPRODUCE OUTSIDE THEIR RACE. If they do it's a VERY rare thing.

Take any powerful elite groups. Going outside your race rarely happen but do the same with black people in western society & it's high even at the bottom end of the social ladder.

If we (black folk) thought of ourselves as a nation/country we'd be a better place.

Racism has always worked both ways. Although I'm not sure this racism, its more the national hero of Jamaica is getting serious with a non Jamaican, pretty sure there would be anger if she was non Jamaican anyway. Its hardly unheard of, can you imagine Prince Harry marrying a black girl, not sure that is even allowed?

That said there is a tendency for black men to see a white wife as a status or trophy symbol, a remnant from the past and segregation.

In the words of the ever so wise Mr West

"but when he gets on, he’ll leave your ass for a white girl"
Was going to write the same thing, it's true. I think harry has dated/slept with black girls but he wouldn't get serious with one, it's sad that they're not allowed to be with someone they want to be with because of a silly thing like colour, the fact that colour is like status to some people is pretty sad tbh.

Here have a look. I reversed the context by switching all the gender and race references in your post from male to female and black to white. My changes are in bold, the rest is unchanged. Do you still not think this attitude is not prejudiced?

I don't think saying white women should not date black men is being 'racist' (let's really think about the definition of that word before we throw it around), rather they're questioning these white women's motives and how they are being raised in society today. Their point of view is that who's betting that they are only dating black men because they think they're exotic. Suddenly they want to rebel against their daddy and white guys are't good enough. And it's not just rebellious white girls, it's white girls in general. There's issues around dating black men instead of white men because white men are too 'boring and uptight' and dark skinned men being deemed more attractive than light skinned men and it's really sad. White women are being conditioned into thinking that either dark skinned, mixed race or black men are better options than the beautiful, intelligent white men out there. If her boyfriend is a good man then great. I just hope she's not based her partner selection on race.
TSR is generalization central, this could be the case, but lets see. I guess it's one of those things when you're rich, I reckon black girls do the exact same thing if they go out with a rich man.

Who gives an honest **** about race, it's a ****ing difference in genotype which causes the melanin levels in your skin to be different to other people. Bloody hell, how ****ing hard is it for people to understand this. You can have preferences, my favourite colour is green for example, it doesn't make me racist if I go for the green paint rather than the red. Bloody hell man. Some outdated views here. Especially with the black people should stick together. We aren't at war with white people or chinese people, why should we act like we are? There is only one race, the human race.

Oh the second paragraph wasn't directed at you, I should have made that clearer. The first bit was though.
