    if i get a 2:2/third this year
will it be possible to get a 2:1 overall without struggling? Im in my 2nd year and im pretty certain im going to get a 2:2/3rd this year, due to various problems.

3rd year is weighted double that of my 2nd year so is it plausible to still get a 2:1 or even a 1st overall?

    Thanks

    2:ii = 59 best case scenario
    So 59*1/3 = 19.67% so far

Need 40.33% out of 2/3 to get 2:i

    60.5% in 3rd year to get 2:i

    75.5% in 3rd year to get a 1st

BUT this is only if you get 59 = highest 2:ii

However, if you get 49 = best 3rd

    then

    49*1/3 = 16.33% so far
    Need 43.57% out of 2/3 to get a 2:i = 65.35% in 3rd year
    Need 53.57% out of 2/3 to get a 1st = 80.35% in 3rd year

Have you applied for mitigating circumstances? Had any doctors notes?

Hi pinkangelgirl. In second year, I got 63% and in third year I got 57%, so for me to get a 2:1 as an average, I also need about a 65% in my final exams (already done module projects etc..)

Good luck to you and fingers crossed for the both of us!!

Little bit more difficult but still perfectly doable Try your best this year, but I found third year a lot easier than second year anyway mainly because if you ace your dissertation it can make up for any exam time booboos

I think on average most folk do the best in their first year, the worst in 2nd year and somewhere in the middle for 3rd year.

Completely depends on the course. For maths courses, if you got anything less than 60 in second year then you'd need no other excuse apart from laziness for that. The only time I've ever heard of anyone going from low 2:1 to a first is when they were intelligent but lazy.

Low 2:2 to a 2:1 is definitely manageable, you just need to put the hours in.

Weird how all of the weightings are done. My second year (what I'm doing now and I think messing up) is worth 22%, my placement year 8% and then final year 70%.

I'm sure if you work hard you can pull it up and get that 2:1. Best of luck!

Depends on loads of things. I know some places its only 59% for a 2:1 and only 68% for a 1st.
