Maintenance Grant not appearing? Or is my Assembly Learning Grant a part of it?
Hi, I live in Wales (hoping to go to University in Sept. 2012 in England though) and I recently applied for my student finance, but noticed the Assembly Learning Grant, Tuition Fee Loan and Maintenance Loan appeared and NOT the Maintenance Grant.

As far as I know, the Maintenance Grant should be automatically included when I applied yesterday, since the overall household income is £17,100 therefore making me eligible for the full £3250 grant. But of course it's nowhere to be seen on my application. The income is based on my mothers since I am dependant on only her, and I don't have any taxable income either.

I was thinking maybe I've misunderstood, and since I live in Wales, am I only entitled to the A.L.Grant and two loans? Or is this wrong? I can't find anything about the Grant in my applicaton and have read through it several times to make sure it's correct and thorough.

It's all very worrying, since with the all money I've applied for put together, I still need to find an extra £2300 from somewhere to pay off the student accommodation... not to even mention the living costs for the rest of the year!

the grant should appear once they have proof of your household income

The Assembly Learning Grant of up to £5,000 is the maintenance grant, for Welsh students. (unless you're on about the fee grant to pay fees up to 9k on top of your tuition loan, in which case you haven't been assessed for the ALG yet).
