Ok brilliant, i was just wondering:

    • How long do they take to learn functions?
    • Will i loose marks in the exam for not putting method marks?
    • Which calculator would you recommend?

    ...
If you are reasonably bright, a graphical calculator is totally unnecessary for those modules.

It's always worth the investment, you can sell it on afterwards as well and get your money back no probs!

It didn't take me long to learn how to use it... My teacher use to go through all of the functions as we had one after school calculator session.

I used it in my FSMQ but I don't think it's necessary for C3, C4 or M1. It's useful for checking you have got the transformations of graphs correct, but it's better to just learn to how to do it on paper.

What is banned is the "graphical" sort i guess, but i'm not sure whether this includes TI-nspire or TI-84; because these are non-CAS and they are allowed on other equivalent exams like AP, SAT, ACT etc.. Otherwise, I think a calculator is expected cause some questions basically require one.

You can pick up a decent Graphical calculator for less than £50, think mine cost me around 25-30 several years ago a sharp one.
They are worth getting, just to check your answers more than anything. You can also write notes and things in them which may be helpful in maths and other subjects :smug:
