I don't know what type of engine oil to use??
I have a Vauxhall Corsa SXI 16V 2004, the thing is, I don't have the oil for it and don't have a clue what oil is right...I don't want to get it wrong and damage the car...So can anyone help, I would take it to service for them to do but it costs nearly £100, so I want to do it myself...help in anyway please

Go to a garage and tell them your make, model and age of car then they'll give you the most suitable oil or point you in the direction of somewhere where you can get some.

It's probably 10W/40, based on a 1.2 16V model, according to Halfords (which isn't always accurate). It'd be better to check the owner's manual and it should tell you somewhere in there.

You said you didn't want to pay for a service - when was the car last serviced? If it was less than a year or 10000 miles ago then it should be OK to just top up the oil with the correct grade of oil. If it was longer ago than this then you're better off getting a service done on it, they will change the oil and filter, and check and replace other things on your car as required. It's expensive, but it keeps your car in good condition and working efficiently, and helps it retain it's value as well.

There shouldn't be any reason to top up the oil unless your changing it completely. And if you are the cars hand book will tell you what type of oil to put in.
