What do you think of my photography?
    I'm studying design/photography at Uni.

Just wondered what people think about my photography so far. From my flickr, what do you think would be my best photo(s) and worst photo(s)?

Anyone from the Bristol area... some places in the photos may be recognisable

    thanks

Well what we think does not matter as it is your work. But I like:

    Broadmead Bokeh (excellent, loved it)
    Blue (nice)
    Sunset (nice)
    Puddle (loved it)
Weymouth Beach. (a bit of cliche subject but well executed.)

A seriously well done on avoiding shots of coloured beach huts

Many of the others are too over blown/done for my taste.

The long exposure traffic type shots and city night scapes tend to be over used. Its analogous to learning standard mating nets against different king positions, appears like black magic to someone who as just learnt the moves, but not really an indicator of any real chess playing ability.

Good luck with your course, it seems to be going well for you.

Some nice work, but most of it is very cliche. There is nothing to make your photographs stand out from the thousands of people on deviantArt with an SLR. Try experimenting with some new techniques and locations.

Awwwww 'in the limelight' is adorable!

They are great. I agree that some of them are a little cliché, but I like them. Also maybe try taking some in good sunlight, I find I get my best pictures in those conditions

Edit: Why on earth neg rate me?

The composition of some of the are excellent, really beautiful (park street, waterdrop, limelight etc) but maybe one or two where the horizion line isn't horizonal enough which just lessens the intensity of it a little.

If you can, try and look a little at other subjects (and maybe avoid the obligatory raindrops on a window pane shoot- everyone does it once but it is a little cliche), I think you'd be well suited to candid street photography and I'd love to see something like that!

Well done though, there photos are really strong, I like clifton lights trail best

The suspension bridge was really good everything else was a bit generic.

It annoys me that every teen with a camera thinks they are a photographer these days, then go take pictures of the same stuff so a bit of originality is great

Also the long exposure light trails are overdone just imo ><
