Which Party should I vote for?
    Hi

On TSR, a lot of the threads are about politics. Some people are Lib Dems, other Labour and some Conservative. Theres even people supporting UKIP.
Now next time the elections come ,(i think its in 2015), I want my vote to make a difference.
However I have no clue on where to start gathering information about different parties so I can decided on which party i should vote for.
Most of the websites tend to be very biased which is why I cant trust them. So people of TSR, I have come to ask you about politics!

Which party does what? Which should I support?

    Thank you

Obviously the websites are biased but see through that and look at the substantive policies and see which party has policies which you think should be enacted.

Just as an example, which I don't personally support as a lefty, here's the section of the Tories website about them: http://www.conservatives.com/Policy.aspx

The various parties will also publish manifestos closer to the election which provide details of what they will, or hope/claim depending how cynical you are, do with the specific term in question (2015-2020 next time) so have a look at them, or summaries of them.

And don't use your vote because of what someone else says, you only cast it once every 5 years for a general election, make sure it's your own.

Um.. well I think the NHS should still exist however it needs improving. The poor need extra support however i would be strict on how that support is given out. Im not going to give benefits to a 19 year old chav just because he's too lazy to go look for a job.

    Does that help?
My apologies.. this is why im struggling.

EDIT: I just thought of something! I want less money spent (or the whole thing cancelled altogether) on sending troops out to fight pointless wars. I dont want to be responsible for someones father/brother/son not making it back for no good reason

Need more info to go on.

Do you believe in higher government spending and taxation e.g. more socialist, or do you believe in a more privately run economy with less taxation?

Well in terms of war, that's definitely Labour ruled out, because of all the pointless wars they joined while. So of the others, you have UKIP, Conservatives, and Lib Dems. We'll need more of your views tbh to chose but conservatives have the best economic record. The others haven't been in power so haven't got much experience or concrete policies but if they interest you, go for it.

Probably not... but to be honest almost every PM annoys me. Im especially hating on Cameron mainly because of the tuition fees and the sexist behaviour he commits.

Ok, if you want help on other things, how about these:

The EU/Foreign Affairs? (pro EU and euro, anti EU and Euro, etc)
Reduce deficit or focus on growth?
Immigration? (current levels fine, reduce it, etc)
    Taxes?

If you really want your vote to make a difference, either vote for the joke candidate or don't vote at all.

Immigration does need to be reduced especially for those who commit crimes and then use 'human rights' as an excuse. However, theres nothing wrong with people moving to britain as long as they help the country grow. Oh and no more giving loads of money to countries when we cant afford it!
We should try and grow as a country but keep in budget? (is that possible? Or am I hoping too much?)
