Re: Which Party should I vote for?You definatly sound as if you're left leaning, so as others have said Labour or Lib Dems will probably be the party for you. But you should read all of the three main parties policies to see which one you agree most with. If you agree most with Labour then you should look at parties further to the left (i.e: Green's) to see if you agree with them more than Labour. If you agree most with Conservatives then you should look at parties further to the right (i.e: UKIP).(Original post by JammyChoos)
Um.. well I think the NHS should still exist however it needs improving. The poor need extra support however i would be strict on how that support is given out. Im not going to give benefits to a 19 year old chav just because he's too lazy to go look for a job.
Does that help?
My apologies.. this is why im struggling.
EDIT: I just thought of something! I want less money spent (or the whole thing cancelled altogether) on sending troops out to fight pointless wars. I dont want to be responsible for someones father/brother/son not making it back for no good reason
Edit: Also I know personalities of leaders now make up a big part of politics, but you should really vote for policies you agree with instead of the leader you think has the best personality.
How biased do you want to be? The OP wanted a non biased response so you could atleast try to keep your bias to yourself. I can't see why you have put UKIP without any mention of Green; when the OP is clearly left leaning and Green is more successful than UKIP.(Original post by Sdiff)
Well in terms of war, that's definitely Labour ruled out, because of all the pointless wars they joined while. So of the others, you have UKIP, Conservatives, and Lib Dems. We'll need more of your views tbh to chose but conservatives have the best economic record. The others haven't been in power so haven't got much experience or concrete policies but if they interest you, go for it.Last edited by Silkysam; 05-05-2012 at 20:54. -
Re: Which Party should I vote for?Ask no more questions. You're a conservative.(Original post by JammyChoos)
Immigration does need to be reduced especially for those who commit crimes and then use 'human rights' as an excuse. However, theres nothing wrong with people moving to britain as long as they help the country grow. Oh and no more giving loads of money to countries when we cant afford it!
We should try and grow as a country but keep in budget? (is that possible? Or am I hoping too much?)

Re: Which Party should I vote for?David Cameron gave like £650 million to Pakistan to say sorry. Thats one hell of an apology. We could have used that money for something better right?(Original post by Sdiff)
Ask no more questions. You're a conservative. -
Re: Which Party should I vote for?Just checked out the Green Party. They sound promising.(Original post by Silkysam)
I can't see why you have put UKIP without any mention of Green; when the OP is clearly left leaning and Green is more successful than UKIP.

Re: Which Party should I vote for? They're one party. Though I've known a few independents who would run council elections dressed as chickens; they are perfectly suitable.(Original post by JammyChoos)
How does voting for a Joke party help?.. I did hear about that monster raving party. is that what your referring to ?

The idea is that it shows the government just how little faith you have in the system; hence reform. Or at least that's what I plan to do.

Re: Which Party should I vote for?I agree that the country needs to stop with the foreign aid. However, they are stricter on welfare than Labour, their university student loan system has actually made it easier for poor people to go to uni, and most importantly they are the only party with a credible solution to the debt/deficit problem left by Labour.(Original post by JammyChoos)

Re: Which Party should I vote for?
Hmm, you think the NHS should stay but needs improving, you would like to see more welfare, but have stricter boundaries, you sound opposed to an interventionist foreign policy, and you want to have stricter immigration.
There is no party that has all that, for NHS, then that's a labour position, the welfare position is in line with the lib dems, the anti-interventionism is covered by the Greens and UKIP, and even the BNP, and stricter immigration is covered by UKIP, Conservative and tories.
It depends what you're priorities are out of the things you have mentioned.
TBH, there is a party called the National Liberals who fit you, but they are a minor-minor party, UKIP cover you're areas as a minor party, and I'd say the Lib dems out of the big 3.
What opinions do you have on

Re: Which Party should I vote for?I would love to see that. That sounds amazing. What would happen if they actually won? :O(Original post by The Socktor)

Re: Which Party should I vote for? It's a tough one. UKIP are the party most against giving foreign aid, although they also want bigger cuts then the Cons.(Original post by JammyChoos)
QFA
Your anti-war, which means Labour probably wouldn't get your vote unless other things mattered more.
You want a balanced budget, which suggests your right wing economically, so again, UKIP or the Cons.
You want to reduce immigration, which again suggests your right wing.
You want to increase welfare, suggesting you have left wing feelings there, although you don't seem to want a completely universal welfare system.
You also want to increase NHS funding, suggesting you have left wing feelings here to.
It's a tough one, as you seem to have elements of all parties. Seeing as you seem to have a mixture of views, I would look at the mainstream, centrist parties first. If none of them appeal to you, then check out UKIP or the Greens, as these would be the the next likely to best represent your views on a whole. -
Re: Which Party should I vote for?1) After looking at the OP's other post, I wouldn't be all that sure she is left leaning.(Original post by Silkysam)

2) The greens only perform better than Ukip in local elections in terms of popular vote. Nationally UKIP enjoys 8%+ on YouGov polls (often matching or even above the lib dems) yet the greens only 3%; which is what UKIP got at the last election.. Where the greens didn't even achieve 1%. Ukip however came 2nd in the European elections, and as the Tories have done very little since then, it is hugely likely they will be the winners of the next. -
Re: Which Party should I vote for?
God, I'm slowly getting bored of the conservative to labour cycle we go through due to whichever one being in power being hated and so everyone starts to prefer the other. I'm just hoping for the day people will wake up and realised they're both as bad as each other and actually vote for a party with a glimmer of hope of doing something good. Nigel Farage seems to have his head screwed on correctly, especially in regards to getting the **** out of the EU, so I'll be voting for UKIP.

Re: Which Party should I vote for?
Well the only way to make your vote really count is to live and vote in a marginal otherwise you're vote is wasted.
To me you sound like a UKIP voter.
But you have to remember that very few voters actually support every single policy that their party advocates, rather supporting the party that has your interests closest to heart. Hence why we have pressure groups.
