Emergency dropping out and reapplying
I’m doing Law at Queens University Belfast. I’m not in love with the course; I’ve made mistakes in terms with my relationships with people; and I’m not in love with NI as a country, and I feel like I don’t belong here.
I’d LOVE to give it a go doing English somewhere over the water. But course fees have gone up, and I’m far past the UCAS application deadline, and I don’t like the idea of having to take a gap year.
Should I rush to prepare a UCAS form, take on a lot of extra debt, and possibly screw up my exams for a chance of happiness?
My parents are wealthy, and my sister also did a second degree and her grades where worse than mine. But I’d still feel selfish. -

If you aren't happy then you are not happy. Coming from personal experience I went to study in Wales, made a lot of mistakes and hated the place. I took a year out and returned to my course and you know what? It's going great. Although you might not like the idea of a 'gap year' if you are in a difficult spot it allows you to remove yourself from the situation and evaluate your life. Go speak to your personal tutor, tell them how you feel, and see what your options are. You might be able to get a transfer it's quite possible in some cases. And do you really want to go through UCAS extra and go to a random university which you haven't thought through? You just need a long hard think about things, all the best!
