    i dont know what molecular geometry is, what i know is that molecular shape is the way molecules arrange themselves around a central atom

    i dont know what molecular geometry is, what i know is that molecular shape is the way molecules arrange themselves around a central atom
    let me give an example
    for steric number 4 the geometry is tetrahedral but there are 3 shapes each corresponding to 4+0 tetrahedral, 3+1 pyramidal and 2+2 bent...
    for 1 geometry there are 3 shapes
    that's what i want to know
    difference between geometry and shape
