Nothing. Whatever they do, they won't secure my vote.
If you're not a liberal by the time you're 30, you have no heart.

If you're not a conservative by the time you're 40, you have no brain.

I would rather either of those than a Conservative with no Soul or Compassion

Why? Because they want to preserve the wealth they earned? Yes, that's really uncompassionate.

I am not a Tory voter, and doubt I'll ever be on however if the managed to change a few policies I would probably vote for them. Some are quite reasonable, others a little far fetched but just my two cents...

    -Secure steady economic growth
-Prevent further cuts on frontline services
-Seriously address the issue of youth unemployment
-Bring in a form of PR such as mixed members
    -decriminalise cannabis consumption
-Referendum on Britain being in EU

    1. Give me back the benefits I am entitled too and need.
    2. Reduce student tution fees again
    3. Don't moan about having no money to spend in the country- yet your spunking millions on a train station they admitt won't be big enough, spunking money on "less sensitive doors on the tube that could still cause the same delays" at the cost of a couple million

But as I said, every government f*cks us over in one way or another in life. I will vote for whoever will spend money fairly, and be HONEST.

    Oh wait.....there's that flying pig.

What if they change and an amazing politician comes along that could transform the country? I hope you are not one of those Labour supporters who will never vote tory because they '****ing hate the tory bastards' - no sense...
If they change it would be a complete suprise. The world-view of many Tory politicians have been formed at Eton and other elite institutions. Often politicians with such a background do not share the same values as those they profess to represent in government or in their constituency. Many people in the Tory party belong to a certain upper class background where private enterprise is largely a family affair, and ordinary people - the proles - are merely means to procure wealth and keep the family well-to-do. If politicians only see people as means to selfish ends, whatever they do to transform the country will be met by opposition in a battle ground of ideologies.

I think that we probably disagree with the definition of this word and, I imagine, no debate could ever bring us closer

I would say fair enough, because Cameron is a complete light weight and they have completely screwed up the coalition but really never?

Why? If you don't agree with the inherent political position of the Conservatives, for example if you're a Socialist, then why would you ever vote for them?

I disagree with all of the above

    Conservative principles are right wing

    IMO, they are selfish

IMO, they focus on keeping the wealth with those who already have it

IMO, they are limited in their understanding of the problems facing many people in the country

IMO, they are limited by their narrow experience base

I would not vote Conservatives for the above reasons

If they changed enough to get my vote ... they would no longer be Conservatives
What you want to have is the introduction of communism where no one is aloud any wealth and certainly not allowed to keep it - except from a select few.
I agree they are limited in their understanding of problems of the average joe but this is because the conservative party is full of rich arrogant posh ****rs instead of normal hard working people and i think that this covers the limited narrow experience base as well.
I personally wouldn't vote tory at the moment but I could be described as a tory - i am not rich and i don't go to private school though. however i would not vote labour at the moment becasue of milipede and co.

not wanting to vote conservatives forever is a little silly if you ask me though...

uhm, well to be honest, what I would like is a society which doesn't have these massive differences in income, a society that cares for it's most vulnerable and unfortunate (this does not mean encouraging people to live off benefits), a society that encourages people to work for the community with a government that creates industry at home and a society that isn't so down to the individual who's encouraged to have as much as they want, whenever they want. Economic growth is bull****, it can't keep growing forever and you can't build a secure society on people just buying stuff...eveidence for this? Our current situation.

call me a commie, but being more socialist would be better for everyone......shame it never works because such a system is always abused by individuals who want more and couldn't give a **** about other people who they always have an excuse for, saying they don't work hard enough etc etc.

so can the conservatives become honest socialists next election? I'll come along to the polling station to vote for them on my purple pig that farts rainbows.
you are a commie bastard who goes against everything british. you want a government that creates industry - like stalin. this is crap - globalisation has prevented this not the government you idiot.
the rich pay a huge amount in tax which is spent on tax so calling them uncaring people is stupid - they are wealth creaters you douchebag.

oh and by the way, I am not rich - my parents scrape a living and i live in a council house but what i have is intelligence and common sense unlike my labourite neighbours.....

    quite frankly... yes.
the main argument of gordon brown over the recession was that it happened across the world and no one could have been exempt from it.

the same is still occuring now and when david cameron tries to tell it people like you won't believe him because he is a tory...idiot.

Become a road-sweeper for the summer?
Erm, don't you think that councils are more likely to be getting rid of existing road sweepers than taking new ones on?

uhm... Old Labour was pretty socialist and brought in a proper welfare state, which we as 'British' take great pride in. You completely misread my above comment, it's people like Stalin who ruin something like communism, he purposely killed millions; I don't want that.

Margret Thatcher sold off our state owned things like the trains. The general conservative idea is to get money for yourself, keep it in the hands of people who have it already and get it as quick as possible by whatever means (i.e very shortsighted)

I didn't say you were rich, but rabid individualism is encouraged by right wing governments. There are plenty of rich people who are serious tax dogers, and I bet there are plenty who if they had the choice would spend a lot less.

p.s If you want to engage in political discussion I suggest you refrain from swearing at people, because it completely undermines any point you're trying to make.

I'm not very politically-informed I'll have to admit, but some compromise on tuition fees would be nice! I'm all for deterring some people from University (the ones who don't NEED to go but are persuaded otherwise), but I don't know... there must be other ways of doing this without this massive increase in fees...promote apprenticeships more...something similar.

Apologies for any poorly-informed information there!

Change their policies to reflect my ideological standpoint. That would include, but not be limited to:

The decriminalisation of all drugs, and the legalisation of some.
The end of the government trying to force Christianity on its people.
    Steeper taxes for the rich.
More flexible benefits for the poor.
    Education upheaval.
    More cooperation with Europe.

    Etc.

If they did that, they would not be the Tories anymore.
