Transfering can be quite difficult. However, if you want to go to a different university, just call those that you wish to go to on results day and see if they have any places left.

Depends on whether the course content is the same and provided there is a space for you. I'm a first year Accounting and Finance student and am transferring to Newcastle for my 2nd year. Provided I get a 60% average in my first year...

I transferred after my first year of uni, moved from York to Birmingham because I wasn't really getting a lot out of the course and the way it was set up and taught at York. I thought at first it'd be difficult and wanted to keep it quiet, but once I told my tutors they were really supportive and sorted everything. Best thing is to just be honest with both sides, and i think most staff concerned will be happy to make sure that you're getting what you want. Leaving is always tough, but if you do it for the right reasons and know that's what you want to do, then don't worry about it, just go with your gut and be open with the people that need to know. I had to fill in 15 minutes worth of forms and things like that, it shouldn't be too bad.

You shouldn't feel bad, end of the day its your choice to go where you feel is best for you. As for the process, I just got in touch with Newcastle, told them I wish to join them for my second year. They asked for information on my current taught modules and marks achieved so far, to check compatibility with their course. Sent a couple of emails regarding my previous education and then they told me that they would accept me for a transfer providing I get 60% in my first year. Then I applied to UCAS and got a conditional offer from them.
