    Telephone Sales - any tips?
Okay so I've been in my new sales job for just under 4 weeks and I've pretty much got to grips with all the systems now. I just need some tips when it comes to 'selling'.

The business is a well respected and popular free magazine and my job is in the advertising side. I have a lot of features and other related products (digital, other publications, glossy wraps etc) to sell, as well as creating quotes and taking calls with people placing adverts The thing is, I am new to telephone sales and not had a great deal of training on it. I've basically been thrown in at the deep end.
I was wondering if anybody had any good tips for a) being confident in selling b) in good telephone technique and c) in not having that split second panic every time my phone rings, or I'm told to ring customer X?

I really want to do well and the more revenue I bring in, there is potential for some pretty big bonuses which will be great!

    Thanks

Be confident when your on the phone and have a script/pointers which you can work around when your trying to convince people to buy advertising space

Oh great that sounds pretty much what our company does on sales.

I worked on sales before but cold calling and that is worse. However I have found B2B is easier and my tip is ask following.

Normal how are you and again defo use that 'Cant wait till weekend' as you can use that during they space fillers of 'You doing much this weekend (first name)' If it Monday do the 'Oh bet your glad to be back at work' As that is not a positive or negative as that person may enjoy at work or not enjoy it.

Overall just be bubbly and chatty often people will have a chat with you if your chatty. Also say 'Thanks very much for your time' esp if your doing a new sale.
