Did you do better or worse than you expected to at AS?
I'm not talking about your predicted grades, but what you personally thought you'd get in your results.
The reason I'm asking is because I'm not confident at all in sitting my upcoming exams. I always seem to think I've done terribly, but I usually end up pleasantly surprised. I think that I'll probably end up with BDDD at AS but i'll hopefully do a lot better than that. Oh the joys of being a pessimist.

Got roughly what I expected to get, more or less anyway. Note: I didnt expect anything good.

Totally agree on the pessimist point, but hey at least the outcomes are good! I'd say I did much better than I had expected

I was predicted all Bs, because of my GCSEs. I was getting C/D in History and German, and As in French. Anywhere from Es to As in English. In the end I got AAAB. I worked v. hard for the History A (i.e....catching up with the rest of my class) and not for the others. So yeah, nice surprise :-) good luck OP.

Worse! I'm a massive optimist (delusional) and for every set of exams, I worked out how many UMS marks I required to end up with an A (sometimes 112/100). ....needless to say, I didn't get A's!

I believe I got exactly what everyone expected me to get.

Pretty much exactly what I thought I would get, apart from my B in politics which I though I'd fail because I kind of put it aside for AS chemistry last year :L

Pretty much what i expected. Apart from Chemistry and Biology which were borderline A/B and B/C respectively.

Got what I deserved, didn't get what I expected.

Went in with a GCSE mentality and it horribly backfired, and dug myself in a hole for A2 which I've been struggling in

Utterly ****ing shocked with being 1 mark off an A in French reading/writing/listening paper, seeing as I had done no revision, went to pee three times during the exam and was dead set on dropping it. Resat with one day's revision and got 1 UMS higher.

    Sometimes, I just don't know.

Much worse. I didn't anticipate the jump from GCSE to AS. I seemed to sail through GCSEs and thought I'd do the same at AS. Made life so much harder this year

Generally, not what I was expecting. I thought I would get Bs in History and Maths in January's exams - I ended up getting As which was a nice surprise. However, I did fail Chemistry (U) which was somewhat expected. Overall... better than I expected.

I expected 100 UMS on all of my exams!

I'm kidding I failed my AS last year.

Now, because I'm actually prospering I hope I'll get AACC (Possibly/More likely). depending on how the exams go. However, there is a possibility that I may get AABC or AAAC depending on how well I do in English. Good luck to everybody.

(Hopefully not guaranteed maybe I'm just being too ambitious).

A lot, lot better. You really don't know what you're going to get until you open you're paper.
Iv'e had my fair share of D and A grade surprises

Also, why is it you always do worst in the subject you thought you did best in, and the best in the one you flopped? Always!

I did a lot better than expected in drama and english, as expected in philosophy and maths. However in my jan exams this year I did waaaay better than expected! Was fabulous I did work very hard though.

    Got what I expected/hoped for.

In the January exams (C1 and Unit 1), I got AAB for Maths, Chem and Physics respectively.

...overall AS level result is the same (AAB).

(The B was 4 UMS off an A. The sad thing is, I want to study Physics in university...)
