Yes they have - billions and billions in write-offs.

No it obviously isn't at all selfless though, no one is going to pretend that, and your point about Spain and Italy is a good one. The thing is, at least this isthe impression i get from what i read on the news...the EU is trying to keep the Greeks from defaulting (and lets not pretend the consequences of that are anything less than "collapse", to repeat the earlier phrase) and the Greek people seem to just respond by taking the money then striking, rioting and voting in parties that are going to throw that plan in the faces of Greece's current financiers. If this was anything but a country defaulting here, the bailifs would move in and repossess everything they could. Fortunately for Greece, i can't exactly see the German army rolling in and moving the Parthenon to Berlin. Voting in Golden Dawn doesn't exactly help Greece, but its also bad for the EU, the UK, me personally. That annoys me.
The write offs you're referring to are not transfer payments. I did mention what they are - they're the so-called voluntary haircuts that private investors took (I think the figure was $100bn) on their loans some months. But that was not you or the EU paying. Those who held Greek government debt (bonds) were accepting losses (more than 50% I think but certainly not 100%). Including Greek investors.

What you were referring to earlier, i.e. the bailouts, are simply loans not transfer payments.

They speak greek. Different language, even a different alphabet. They can't just pack up and go. Plus, they have no money to support themselves. Unemployment is also high elsewhere.
    We speak english

I don't know much about Greece. Though the Election is on the 17th June and there is talk that the Pro-Euro but Anti austerity Party might win.

All the parties are to a degree pro-EU except Golden Dawn. Even Syriza want to stay in the EU, they argue that the EU are pushing them out. The only other anti-EU party are the Communists, but they want a very gradual withdrawal.

They're going to be trading their cars for donkeys whichever party gets in but if they fail to meet the requirements for EU and IMF support then they won't even be able to feed said donkeys - for that reason I would definitely vote for either PASOK or New Democracy.

Even though I am completely against communism, I think it would be better for the country when compared to what it is now.
Communism is good,if it is true communism, unlike the greedy Stalin, who obviously wasn't communist because he had a lot more money than the rest of Russia.Communism is about equality and this is someone we should all strive for because no one should have significantly more than anyone else eg.rich businessmen and poor Africans, communism could make them equal and equality wipes out poverty and suffering.

Nothing against you personally but your economy is screwed - whether due to austerity cuts or the economic turmoil of leaving the euro (the drachma will be automatically devalued, you would owe debt which you could never hope to repay in a stronger currency leading to a general default and complete inability to borrow money which would basically result in a public sector collapse and a period of extended depression, in my opinion) it's going to be pretty tough for a few years, whoever gets in.

If my joke about donkeys offended you then I apologise.

the problem is that many of the immigrants that have entered Greece in recent years don't actually have jobs nor any prospects of finding one.The problem is that many immigrants have formulated ghettos and have been involved in criminal activities
I've met several Albanians who either had lived in Greece or were commuting there for work. All of them, from the 17 year old male to the 46 year old female dancer said that they were treated as though they were criminals when they were there by most of the greek people.

ΛΑ.Ο.Σ isn't really right wing. It's sort of nothing.

They take concepts from the far left to the far right, but I think they steer more towards to a Conservatism view in terms of solidarity and capitulation of immigration.

ΛΑ.Ο.Σ have endorsed "Womens rights" groups in Greece and taken over various youth groups and right wing groups that branched to nationalism, but as far as their credo goes; their sort of right wing with leniency to adopt left wing concepts.

This also explains the lack of any real support for them; they don't really represent a specific niche.

Golden Dawn is basically an anti-immigration group that ISN'T neo-nazi.

They support the Orthodox church, and view the Enlightenment and industrial revolution in bad lights, ergo they are non globalizationists. They also use the Roman salut which isn't Nazi origin, but they do refuse to accept the Jewish Holocaust occurred.
golden dwan is clearly a neo-nazi party

Does it really matter? Their Prime Minister will remain as the unelected ex-Goldman Sachs central banker. I knew it was only a matter of time but the Euro has finally killed democracy.
