    I disagree.
Silva is so much better than anything we have in the premier league it's not even funny. I guess you could have Hummels, Pique or Komapny to partner him then. :dontknow:

    Well thats an overstatement.

I think he's a great great player but has had his phases off form during this season. Lets not forget when he was on form, he had great talent all around him to compliment his style of play.

For me, Wilshire is ridiculously class and impressed me more in his full season last year than Silva did this year. Obviously there is no basis for comparison since Wilshire is inexperienced and is more of a box to box player but still, he's a midfielder and I'd rather a fit JW in my squad personally.

Yep sorry, I didn't read the previous page comments properly.

Don't know how good Thiago Silva has been this season, but I have massive respect for Kompany and would be surprised to know Silva is better

Oh right, makes more sense now  Silva is an absolute monster though, even Vidic admits he's the best in the world.

    Kompany + Vidic
Immense. It would be the first central defensive partnership I've fallen in love with since Bruce and Pallister.

Nothing will come close to Cole and Yorke in 99.
Awwww...knew you'd beat me to it

But not as good as Thiago Silva + Chiellini.
Was sceptical at first but then looked up the stats. Juve conceded 8 away goals all season. Unbeaten home and away. Wonder how many they'd have let in with Thiago Silva thrown into the mix.

You do realise you can only have one goalkeeper in goal for the team..?

    Ashley Cole and Dani Alves

Some of my favourite duo's from down the years at Chelsea...

Duff and Robben cutting in from either wing and rotating was a sight.
Carvalho and Terry, best centre back partnership to grace the Premier League?
Perhaps a slightly odd one - but Ashley Cole and John Terry. Have a fantastic understanding between each other on the left side of defence.
Ashley Cole and Malouda in 2009-2010 under Hiddink, were something else on the left wing.

Nowadays, watching Mata with anyone on his level would be decent.

No rule that you can't have two players on the goal line.

But there is a rule that only one (and the designated one) is the only person who can handle the ball in the box.

    Yaya Toure and Raimeres.

    Two physical powerhouses

Torres and Drogba. They need time to develop a seriously fatal attacking threat.
    Please don't rustle my jimmies.

Agger and Vermalaen (if they could stay fit....imagine the long shots).

Suarez and Cisse'd make a good pairing I reckon.

    (Original post by NR09)
Kompany and Vidic is a good shout.

As a Newcatle fan I can't wait to see Marveux as part of a front three.

    Marveux---Cisse---Ben Arfa

    That would be soooooooo good.
    No Ba?

    Not a chance.

Vidic and Kompany would be the best CB partnership in the world.

(In form) Torres with Suarez. I don't know why we sold him :/ Carroll may come good but gah. What a striking threat that would've been :cry2:
