    Retaking old a level modules
Does anyone know if there is a time limit on retaking modules for A levels? I completed mine 2 years ago but would like to try retake some of the modules to get better grades? Does anyone know if this is possible or has anyone done something similar?

As far as i know there is no limit on retaking any modules as long as you have gained sufficient extra marks to get a new grade as in if your 10 marks away from A but you only got 9 then they won't accept cash in however say you get the 10 or extra marks needed and if would pull your grade up they will accept it

also dont forget the cash in fee, usually £10 if paid before exam...

You can retake as often as you like for as long as you like as long as the syllabus is still available.
If you took AS in 2009 (or later) and hence A2 in 2010 (or later) you are OK.

Re: Retaking old a level modules
I did my A-Levels 2 years ago doing 3 subjects law, media and psychology.

My first year I didn't get the results I wanted so did retakes for all 3 exams, some grades improved others didn't.

At the time I didn't know what I wanted to do so didn't put in the effort I should have, however I still applied for uni along with everyone else and got conditional offers from Bournemouth, Birmingham and Swansea. Even with this I didn't try my hardest and ended up with the following results.
    Law C
    Media Studies C
    Psychology D

I was disappointed but instead of trying again I gave up I now work part time at a corner shop been there for 1yr 8months and soo bored its depressing. I now know I definitely want to go to uni and do something with my life, but am unsure how to go about it.

Should I (if its even possible as its been 2 years) go back to original subjects and re-do certain moduals that brought my average of my grade down, start fresh with new subjects, try do 1 more subject in hopes of improving my tariff points to get into a decent uni or try get onto a foundation course with the results I have?

Any help and advice would be much appreiated

Yep you can, I've just retaken and english lit module. You need to find a school/college that will let you sit the exam as a private candidate, this can take a lot of emailing.
