Humiliating running incident

Just agreed to go running with a boy (just a friend thing), and I barely made it a mile and a half. It was due to period pains, but I couldn't tell him that, so now he thinks I'm really unfit. Also, I breathe heavily running - I can't help it - but I genuinely can run for five miles normally.

To make it worse, I'm supposed to be doing a half marathon this weekend.

Please, please say something to make me feel better

I can't run for more than 10 min!

He probably finds the heavy breathing a turn on

I agree with this guy, i thought you had crapped in your pants, whats so humiliating about having to stop so soon and appearing unfit? it would be funny if he was actually "just a friend" you like him, you feel like you made a show of yourself, he probably didn't even notice.

in other words, get over it gurrrrrl :blah:

Just act like it never happened :P. We boys don't really think about these things.
You might want to invite him to another racing event

Why couldn't you tell him you had period pains? Or just said before you left 'sorry, I've had a stomach ache all day, I might not run as well as usual.'

Good luck on your half marathon

I would worry about it, OP. Any experienced runner knows that evyerone has bad runs from time to time.

I've seen people who've run marathons barely make it a couple of miles before throwing up because they weren't feeling well that day. It happens. Meh.

You could just say you had stomach ache/cramps, and the guy will suss it out for himself and won't think much more of it. It's not embarrassing at all.
