Jan 2012 Ethics guessed questions

Looking at the examiner's report for B603 and B604 GCSE Religious Studies, these are the question I would have thought came up, for revision purposes:
http://www.ocr.org.uk/download/rep_12/ocr_67176_rep_12_gcse_jan.pdf

B603:

Religion and Human Relationships-

a) Give one role of a man in a Christian family.
b) Give two roles a person can have within the Church.
c) Describe a Christian marriage ceremony.
d) Explain the attitudes a Christian would have towards a homosexual couple.
e) "People are meant to have roles within Christianity"

Religion and Medical Ethics-

a) What is meant by fertility treatment?
b) Give two reasons for the support of cloning.
c) Describe Christian teachings towards animal testing.
d) Explain Christian attitudes towards suicide.
e) "A mother should have the right to abortion"

Religion, poverty and wealth-

a) Give one example of gambling.
b) Suggest two charitable activities.
c) What might Christians believe about concern for the poor?
d) Explain Christian teachings about immoral occupations.
e) "Christians should earn and give away as much money as possible"

B604:

Peace and Justice-

a) What is 'social injustice'?
b) Give two forms of punishment.
c) Why might Christians work towards social justice?
d) Explain Christian attitudes towards war.
e) "Peace is more important than justice"

Equality-

a) What is 'forgiveness' ?
b) Give two reasons why people are against racism.
d) Explain Christian attitudes to people of other religions.
e) "You should forgive people no matter what"

I have left out the "Media" topic as I didn't learn it, so cannot really guess a question.

I have to remind you that all of these questions are guesses, and not necessarily correct, especially so for the equality topic where the examiner's report was very vague. Also, I have only mentioned Christianity in my questions, but they should relate to all the religions on the paper as usual.

I hope they will help your revision (and mine, of course!)

OK, here you go:

You could say earns money and provides for the family for part a).
For part b), say something like priest, Sunday School Teacher.

As I have said though these questions might not have the exact same wording, so the question for part b) could have been "give two jobs that a person can have within Christianity".

Two charitable acts: Giving shelter to a homeless person and donating to a charity helping around the world such as providing support for families in poverty.

Also, I would recommend looking at the examiner's reports for these questions:

Thanks bro ^^, Yeah I've read it and your predictions are pretty good but the medical ethics is the most spot on as from reading the other reports from other years also it seems that animal testing and cloning is bound to come up and possibly abortion. All we can do now is hope for the best

So you guessed this by examiner reports. How likely do you think you are correct and is it safe to only heavily
revise sections that you've said?

Also I'm doing b603 and my teacher gave me a test paper which looks official and the dated or it is Wednesday 18 jan 2012. It's excactly the same except the wording for example for section a it says attitudes to civil partnership not homosexual.

Wow... have you got the jan 2012 paper... can you put the questions up for us please. Personally, I'd recommend only revising for 4 topics as it's an easier workload and less to remember. Yep I dud this just by looking at examiner's reports

Well we only have to answer 2 questions each paper and I'm taking 2 papers on Tuesday. So 4 questions. But you could learn all 6 topics (3 on each paper) but I think that would be a waste of time.

i think that i'm only taking one paper the B603 one what is your second paper that you are taking?

B604, it has war and equality in it. I think it's going to be easier than the one we're both doing because equality is so vague so you can just waffle and there aren't that many quotes to remember. Poverty is horrible though in our paper, I have pages of quotes, it's unbelievable. :frown:

Kind of, but I'm not revising the human relationships section, but I did learn it so I guessed the questions.

Why are you not learning it because it's probably in the exam?
