    Politics and Modern Studies
I have never done either of these subject and I wondered if somebody could help me out by explaining the difference between them because being perfectly honest I thought Modern Studies was just basically politics

    Re: Politics and Modern Studies
Well politics is pretty self explanatory.

However, with Modern Studies it's sort of a range of different topics merged into one. At my school, Modern Studies is split into 3 units. The first unit covering decision-making in central government, the second being about health and wealth inequalities within the UK and the third being about the USA. But also, the USA unit is split into US politics, immigration and inequalities that are suffered by ethnic minorities. Therefore, you can see it is a bit of a mixed subject, although there's a clear link between the units. Yet it also depends on the school. Another school might teach topics within China or Africa, rather than the USA. But overall, Modern Studies is a mix of politics and the society.
