Fancy dress (mainly School Disco)
On the first day of uni, as a way for all freshers to socilaise there was a school disco themed party, but I brought nothing that resembled an outfit so I didn't go out of of feeling embarrassed/left out.
Anything else I forgot I probably at least had the time to go back home and get it or buy it further down the line. -

Recipe books (I remembered, but few people do)
I wish I'd brought an extra computer screen to use for movies and stuff. I missed having a telly on in the background when I was writing essays. -

These sound like silly things, but it's true....
-Tin foil and cling film
-Tupperware boxes [these and the cling film are essential if you don't want to waste food!]
-Baking tray
-Lined paper pads
-Bathroom cleaning products eg bleach
-Washing powder/liquid
Just basic everyday things you need but don't really think about. But don't worry if you forget stuff like this, I bought all of it as and when I needed it. Make a list of REALLY important stuff that you mustn't forget to avoid any real crises
Edit - school uniform fancy dress is probably a good idea too, just shirt and tie you know, there will ALWAYS be a school disco!!Last edited by abc:); 01-06-2012 at 18:58. -

Actually the ones in bold are a really good one, especially if you are sharing bathrooms! -

A holdall and a printer. Got my printer in second year, but never did get a holdall. That realisation came too late. Instead I met my boyfriend's family for the first time with my giant pink suitcase that looked like I'd packed for two weeks, not a weekend.

Doorstop is a really good idea - I use mine all the time!!
Erm.. also I would suggest DISTINCTIVE cutlery! I started the year with standard silver stuff and now have only one fork and two spoons left. I do, however, seem to have acquired a few extra knives than I arrived with so I guess it's not all bad
