Its so bad. Its been four weeks of miserable, rainy, gloomy, horrible weather and we're into Spring now - it was 22 degrees this time last year.

What the **** is going on and when will it end?

No but in all seriousness, it's because the government imposed a hosepipe ban. The weather always mocks the government...whenever they impose one it pours for weeks!

I wish it'd stop though, I'd like to be able to wear summer clothes BEFORE I go on holiday in September. I'm still in boots, jeans, jumpers and jackets! Winter wear!

Also, it's frigging cold. I don't usually have to put my dressing gown and slippers on in May. And I can't open my window without freezing, so my room gets really stuffy. We're still having to put the heating on for an hour or two a day.

And I'm still drying laundry inside because the weather's so awful! It takes so much longer.

I'm beginning to dread that unseasonably warm weather we had a few weeks back WAS our summer

It has been raining persistently. They cancelled the cricket game I was going to see! Its those kinds of things that are impractical and not enjoyable in constant rain; especially when you don't expect it.

It's just a tiny bit of an issue because when you're a student it's a pretty expensive problem to still be using the heating a) because it's cold, b) because it's damp and c) because you need to dry laundry / umbrellas / clothes that got rained on. If it's raining and you're carrying books / papers / laptops then you have to get a bus to get to the library or lectures, which is more expense.

And that's just the practical side. Given we're all coming up to the end of exams / finals / dissertation hand ins, a lot of people would like to be celebrating. Let's forget the idea of a bbq for a second, but anyway in this town all the student clubs have their largest areas outdoors with no covers. Not only is it freezing, but it's probably also pretty wet, and not a lot of fun. I only get a week between my final coursework hand in and my dissertation starting, so I'd like to be able to enjoy it. Call me picky :P

It's the English equivalent of a rain dance. We should irrigate the world's deserts by imposing hosepipe bans on them
