I remember one girl very eloquently telling me that I should back off away from her "territory", and another making an off-colour comment about how 'butch' I am and how the gay bar was across the street. Le sigh.

Of course, there could be other reasons why they're acting this way towards you, but from what you've said so far, I don't think you've done anything wrong. There's nothing wrong with hanging out with lads, in my opinion. Besides, they certainly give us all less of a headache...usually. I wouldn't pay any attention to them. Let them live in their own little world.

And Hollister is awesome. Just saying.

I can understand why you'd want to only hang out with guys. Males may be the testosterone-fuelled sex but in terms of personal relationships we lack the bitchiness, shifting allegiances, back-stabbing and talking-behind-the-back that sadly typifies many female relationships. You're seen as not 'fitting in' because you choose to hang out with guys. I know plenty of girls like this and they're usually a lot more fun to be with than girls who just hang out with girls. Based off of my experiences anyway.

I kinda had/have the same issue. Almost all my friends are guys. It wasn't through any conscious effort but i studied and worked in a field where there just aren't that many girls. I did have problems sometimes with my friend's girlfriend's disliking me. But it would always be the ones who never actually got to know me and the ones who did ending up loving me and realised that i'm not secretly trying to steal their boyfriend.

I get on with girls fine but i don't find it as easy to be good friends with them. I'm pretty sure that it's my issue and not theirs. I just get really awkward and i'm never sure what to say. When i'm with my guy-friends we usually communicate through sarcasm and teasing. I don't feel like i can talk to other girls in the same way :/. Also my male-friends NEVER get drunk and drag me into the toilets at a club so they can cry while i stand there hesitantly patting their shoulder.

They think you're a slut because you hang out with so many boys; boys they probably want to date. They're jealous you spend so much time with these boys and probably think you give them all sexual favours so they let you hang out with them, leaving the girls without a chance with these boys.

A few girls in my school climbed the male social ladder with sexual favours, and every other girl hated them, although everyone knew about it. Obviously you're not doing that, but it's probably how it comes across.

To be honest, you are better off not being friends with these type of people! But thats just my opinion.

Also, its hard when being a girl, everyone kind of expects you to have one special 'best' friend.

I myself am hated by both quite a lot, everyone thinks I'm 'weird', yet won't say in what specific way and I'm never given a chance to really get to know many people, because most judge me and write me off immediately.

From my own experience, the girls who post fb statuses saying "Why do girls hate me? " or " boys are so much better to hang round with than girls" are either:

a.) Hated by not just girls but everyone, because they're arrogant, attention-seeking bitches, but think boys like them when really they just want sex.
b.) slags, and sleep with all the people they call their 'friends'

However, on occasion you do find lovely girls who just so happen to get on better with boys simply because they like the fact that boys are (generally) less bitchy and aren't so judgemental about what you're wearing and how you've done your hair that day etc etc. I'm sure you're that type of girl OP. And since you're obviously attractive by the fact you work in Hollister, any new girls you meet may become jealous of you aswell.

It's ridiculous that they don't consider that maybe we just share more interest with guys. When i'm with my friends and one of their girlfriends is there, whenever the topic gets on to anything typically 'boyish' like computer games they make eye contact with me and roll their eyes like "Boys eh?" and then i feel akward, like i'm supposed to ally with them and say "Huh, yeah, boys." When really i want to butt into the conversation and say "Are you mad? Obviously Karazhan was the most fun 10-man raiding dungeon!".
