Do most people go to Uni straight after A2?
Was just wondering if most people go straight to Uni after they complete their A2's, or go for a gap year?

Mainly people go straight to university. Like 90-95% of them

I wouldn't say it was that high...
but the majority go straight there, there was probably a higher proportion last year because of the increased fees too.

I think it's pretty hard to give an exact answer to this - generally I think people go to Uni straight from A Levels, but then again a lot of people decide on gap years.

It all depends on the person and what they want to do

Then again, the government played a big part in that decision last year when everyone tried to dodge the higher fees

Well most do, but a fair amount of people do take gap years too though. You can't really count last year cause people just wanted to get in before fees went up.

In both my sixth form (I left in 2010) and my flat in halls (I started in 2011), it's about a 50/50 split. However,
    a) Both my school and my university tend to attract a fairly middle class cohort, so it's not really a representative sample.
    b) Last year was exceptional, because even those people who wanted to take a gap year ended up being forced to go straight to uni by the higher fees.

I don't think most people take gap years but then again if that's what you want to do then go for it. i probably should have done it in hindsight.
