Made the wrong choice and now cant do anything about it :/
Essentially i was convinced by pretty much everyone at home to go to Southampton over Nottingham because of convenience and both are solid universities- but now I get the feeling that in the long run I have made a huge mistake and now according to UCAS there is nothing I can do about it
Both require AAA but I should hopefully get that and at best am looking at A*A*AA - but it all comes down to nothing now essentially and I still can’t help feeling that I chose wrong in the biggest decision of my life and there is nothing I can do about it
So if anyone can offer me any advice it would be much appreciated, the opportunity of going to Nottingham seems to have gone and now the best chance I can think of is If I get A*A*BB then ring them up and beg to let me on the course because if you meet your firm then you have to go there- definitely don’t want to repeat the year and don’t know what to do :’(
Don’t get me wrong I’m grateful to have the offers but choosing Nottingham as my insurance still seems like the most stupid thing I’ve ever done -

http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/show....php?t=1604737 maybe that link will help. Specifically
The link to what he said: http://www.ucas.com/students/offers/faqs/replying/faq814 days from the date on the letter UCAS sends you after you choose your firm and insurance.
If your over 14 days that then it won't be possible via UCAS so possibly contact the uni and explain the situation?
Heres the link to the UCAS changing your mind FAQ and info page. -
Re: Made the wrong choice and now cant do anything about it :/Wait so i can change my mind now since i made my choice on the 26th of April?(Original post by Crêpe)

Based on what I've read, it's possible. A chance of getting a spot might have decreased, but yeah, according to those links it should be possible.(Original post by WhiterunUK)

Perhaps ringing to confirm this is the best, don't want to give you false hope.
Best of luck!

Previous posters seem to be confused between the words seven and fourteen for some reason.
So you are likely to be too late, but it may be worth a phone call. Can I change my replies?
You can change your replies once within seven days of the date that you made them by contacting us. We send you a Status Check letter (AS9 or AS9D) once you have replied, please check it. To make changes or to discuss other possible options for changing if you're outside the seven day period, you'll need to contact us. -
I just quoted posts. Took their word on it.(Original post by Good bloke)

Re: Made the wrong choice and now cant do anything about it :/well, he even linked to a UCAS site, so why shouldn't I trust him? Besides, I did tell him to ring to confirm this, since I didn't want to give him any false hope. I get your point though..(Original post by Good bloke)
Then you should learn to discriminate between the reliable and the unreliable, the current and the out-of-date.Last edited by Crêpe; 08-05-2012 at 12:46. -
Re: Made the wrong choice and now cant do anything about it :/Because, if you had taken the trouble to read what he linked to, you would have seen that it had changed for the current season and no longer says what he said it says.(Original post by Crêpe)

Re: Made the wrong choice and now cant do anything about it :/I know that feel(Original post by CurlyBen)
I was persuaded to go to Southampton over Sheffield because (at the time) soton was ranked higher for my subject. I preferred Sheffield as a place but ended up at Southampton and loved the place, would go back in an instant if I could!
but hopefully my referee said he can sort it out if i really want to- its the worst feeling thinking you picked the wrong uni :/

Re: Made the wrong choice and now cant do anything about it :/At this stage it is important to act very quickly. If you intend asking for a late change you should have done so today. Don't wait for your referee to do something - call UCAS yourself. Today.(Original post by WhiterunUK)
