AS Levels : English Lit (A), Fine Art (A), Biology (A), Mandarin Chinese (B) Chemistry (C)
A2 Levels: English Lit, Fine Art, Chemistry, Biology
A2 predictions: A*A*A*A (UCAS predictions, but school report ones are lower, I think)
    degree: Biological sciences
UCAS: Oxford: firm offer (A*AA inc. bio, chem and enligsh lit), Manchester insurance offer: (AAA)

I'm in a similar position with English Language B (A in coursework last year and exam, teacher won't tell me but judging by her reaction and her unsubtle wink-wink nudge-nudge face, A in coursework this year) but I thought it was weighted the other way round - 60 for the exam and 40 for the coursework? Does it make more sense that way round?
EDITED TO ADD: I fished out my English Language B textbook to look it up - it says that it's weighted coursework:40, exam:60, for the entire A-Level qualification - so in otherwords the AS exam was worth 30, the AS coursework 20, the A2 exam is worth 30 again, the A2 coursework was worth 20, to make up the 100 percent final outcome. No idea if this is helpful or not.
Thanks, its for another user actually. In that case...

Raw Marks I think were 68 for Unit 2 and 57 for Unit 4
You would need 97/120 UMS (about 81%) in the exam based on the scores I've worked out. Hope that helps you

If you're ding ooby;37874661]Is anybody on this thread good at maths? Could anybody possibly try to work out my current English Language AQA B grade? I got an A in my AS coursework and an A in my AS exam and have been told that *hopefully if it doesn't get changed* I have only dropped four marks on my A2 coursework. We have completed 60% of the course with the exam only being worth 40% so could somebody please give me a Ifnyourerough idea of what I'm currently on and what I need to get in the exam to get an A/A*?

    Thanks x[/QUOTE]

If you you're doing AQA B then coursework is out of 80 raw marks, so either your raw marks are much higher or you've dropped more marks than you think.

And the exam is worth 30% of the course- 60% of A2

Does Track crash on results day EVERY year?

But I've heard they're going to send emails now on whether you've got into uni or not.

    ENGB1 (AS Exam) 100 ums/120
    ENGB2 (AS coursework) 66 ums/80
    ENGB3 (A2 exam) /120
    ENGB4 (A2 coursework - based on last years boundaries) 75 ums/80

    Thanks
    To get an A:

79/120 UMS = 66% which is a erm Mid C grade so you'll need raw marks of around 54+ out of the maximum raw mark of 96 for Unit 3.

    To get an A*

    105/120 = 88% UMS = 78 RAW marks out of the maximum 96

(based on June 2011 grade boundaries)

Also you've completed 70% of the course already, the exam you're about to do is 30% of your overall A level if this is the spec for your course http://store.aqa.org.uk/qual/gce/pdf...05-W-SP-10.PDF

I also added in what each unit is out of in UMS terms in case you're confused.

From my school after my head of sixth form went to some UCAS convention, I just read it again. The confirmation letter normally comes by post but they're now going to email it. I'm not sure how certain this plan is though because they haven't officially announced this plan on the website but my school made it sound definite. But me too! I don't get my results till 11am I think when it opens on ResultsPlus at 6am

I had planned on staying up all night before getting results, but I know that if things don't go my way, sleep deprivation definitely won't help...

On a lighter note, I'm working this summer! So hopefully time will pass quickly

    Hahahahahahahahaha results.

    I laugh when I'm nervous.

    :cry2:

I predicted my grades the other day. Now I feel like I've jinxed it.

I apologise if this has already been said, I don't quite have time to flick through all 328 posts
BUT is the time to pick results up the same for everyone? Or is it subjective to your school/college. If it's standard for everyone in the country, what time is it ?

Im quite looking forward to results day, I know I tried my best this time around and will be proud of my grades whether they are A's or D's.

However, as my college is closing its A Level department I don't know if we will be able to go into college to collect them or whether they will be posted. I hope they do a normal results day as I want to know how everyone else got on, and to say goodbye as we are all having to go to different places to continue A levels

I'll be definitely staying up on the night before results! The plan at the moment is to make a list of courses I'm interested in clearing when they go up (so if I miss my firm and I'm still reluctant to go to my insurance) I have something to immediately try and follow up after getting released (although I probably won't find much).
I'm really not sure if I've got into my firm or not, I had a pretty terrible year with History (new teacher) so I'll definitely have plummeted from my A last year, and that puts a lot more pressure on English Lit (my offer is ABB but I know the maximum I can get in Biology is a B due to that terrible CCEA exam!).

It's relative to the college/school I'm lucky enough to be able to access my results online this year at around 7 I believe, so that'll be much easier (especially because last time when I was driving for my results, I was still learning and due to this and having like 2 hours sleep, I stalled at a mini roundabout around 8 times because I was completely unaware I was in third and people were not amused ).
