Re: Official A-Level Results Day Discussion 2012! (16/08/2012)I do them with 20kg around me with a dip belt(Original post by Jazzeh)
The ****?
Everytime I get in routine at the gym something always crops up. Therefore I've plateaued for about seventeen years now.
Chin ups? Anybody can do a respectable amount of chin ups, surely!

Re: Official A-Level Results Day Discussion 2012! (16/08/2012)Very nice. Is that a bent over one arm row? I can't think of any other way to do it. I only do 30 KG on those.(Original post by Jakeeyy)
Who cares, what can he dip, pull/chin, squat and deadlift?
I managed to one arm row 40kg 10 times today with no chalk, just hands
By the way is your huge deadlift record for sets, or just for one set of 5 reps or so? Trying to not-so-subtly jduge myself personally against someone who's entering competitions.

Re: Official A-Level Results Day Discussion 2012! (16/08/2012)Yeah, i was knelt down on a bench and showed a friend how to do them, first time I've done them in ages. I tend to only grip with my finger tips.(Original post by Arva)

Huge deadlift? Haha. Last week i did 4 sets of 150x3, this week i will try 155x3, 160 if i feel sexy. Next week is max week, a 180 pull will make me happy. Need to sort my squat out a little and also my bench, my bench sucks haha. -

Re: Official A-Level Results Day Discussion 2012! (16/08/2012)I really get what you mean, to be honest. Every marriage in my immediate family has broken down badly, and I'm not too sold on the idea of marriage myself after seeing it happen. I don't think it's wise to wait for a 'soulmate', because nobody is perfect, but I'm sure that most people will eventually find someone who brings out the best in them, and makes them happy.(Original post by thompsonic7)
Most of the couples I know splitting up/divorcing, mainly. It's been a build up of several years of seeing people close to me getting divorced, or having affairs, or staying together in acrimony followed by a recent bad breakup in which I realised that we're naive to think that everyone has a 'soulmate' and that that one perfect person is waiting for us. Realistically, we will end up either settling and being unhappy to mediocre at best, or staying alone- always waiting to meet someone who isn't coming, because they already settled out of fear of ending up alone.
All it takes in my opinion is for two people to come together who are better together than the sum of their individual merits, and that is enough.
Spoiler:ShowI also let myself expect that I will find someone pretty awesome, because I'm overconfident like that.

Re: Official A-Level Results Day Discussion 2012! (16/08/2012)I wish my friends were so supportive(Original post by lilGem)

I think most of them think I'm too young but they're too scared to say it, one of my friends has gone out of his way to ignore me since it happened and we used to be so close
the only friend of my own age who's been really supportive is my best friend, because she's engaged too and we're being mutual bridesmaids apparently

I do 4 sets of 130x6, planning to go to 135 next session. My squat's pretty atrocious, but I'm relatively happy with my bench sets and also my max.
What's your bench?

Best of luck with your results, too!
