Re: Official AS/A Levels Thread/Results Day Thread 2012! (16th August 2012)3 or 4 more A-levels, an EPQ and try get as much work experience as possible, hopefully getting some at Addenbrooke's/Cavendish Labs when I'm in Cambridge, and perhaps some at the UCL.(Original post by Theafricanlegend)
what will you do in your gap yah?
Will also go for the BMO and BPhO, as well as sitting STEP, just to keep my maths practised.
Beyond that, I'll get myself a job to earn some cash and save up to go somewhere abroad for the summer.

Re: Official AS/A Levels Thread/Results Day Thread 2012! (16th August 2012)I know right, it's like everything we've done has come to an end... But was it worth it? Lol(Original post by madders94)
Very nervous! This wait is going to be horrible knowing that at least the next three years of my life depend on what results I get, and there's nothing I can do about it! You?
I'm feeling alright tbh, thinking I've hopefully got a bit of room for error from AS

Re: Official AS/A Levels Thread/Results Day Thread 2012! (16th August 2012)ahh thats interesting you got it figured out, dont you worry that jobs are lacking in theoretical physics?(Original post by Oromis263)

I'm glad that English and Drama are coursework heavy because I know I did very well on my English coursework and my drama practical too apparently! And for psychology, I only need a B in the exam to get an overall A but to be honest I'd be happy with just getting into uni!

Re: Official AS/A Levels Thread/Results Day Thread 2012! (16th August 2012)No, not really, moving into any sort of job in Th.Physics is at the minimum 5 years away, and I would like to do a doctorate before moving into the field. So that gives about 6-7 years for the jobs to pick up.(Original post by Theafricanlegend)

I on the other hand am glad my subjects have no coursework because I can't hack it
Yeah I just wanna go to Cardiff
I don't want my insurance though because it's for chemistry and I really wanna do pharmacy!

Re: Official AS/A Levels Thread/Results Day Thread 2012! (16th August 2012)In between revising, sitting the exams, and getting results, waiting really isn't that bad !(Original post by Abbie Keates)
What part of exams do you all think is the worst? I think waiting for results is worst

Re: Official AS/A Levels Thread/Results Day Thread 2012! (16th August 2012)Long story
to cut it short, originally applied for drama, then realized that I didn't want to do just drama because I love acting but studying it for three years intensively would make me hate it. Went for what I've always wanted to do, nursing/midwifery - then I got ill and it seems to be a long term thing so I can't commit to long hours etc at the moment, so I found the Creative Studies degree, Bangor is my nearest university so I'm close to home and I've always had a knack for creative writing, journalism and theatre so it seems perfect, and I applied for that through Extra so I don't get an Insurance choice

Re: Official AS/A Levels Thread/Results Day Thread 2012! (16th August 2012)Aww well that's fair enough!(Original post by madders94)

Well it sounds like a good choice
what grades do you need ?

Re: Official AS/A Levels Thread/Results Day Thread 2012! (16th August 2012)Can't remember if it's 240 or 260 points, I think that's a B and two Cs/two Bs and a C? I've applied for special consideration so if I don't meet the offer the uni will have a letter hopefully so they might be a bit lenient(Original post by thelooby94)

Re: Official AS/A Levels Thread/Results Day Thread 2012! (16th August 2012)240 - CCC(Original post by madders94)

260 - BCC
Or any combination, this is just minimum grade achievable in each subject, if minimum is just reached. If that makes sense..

Re: Official AS/A Levels Thread/Results Day Thread 2012! (16th August 2012)Ah, sounds like they went quite well(Original post by Oromis263)
No, they all went really well (hoping that doesn't jinx it), just annoyed about a couple of answers I know I've got wrong. Especially the one which I was trying to change when they came around to collect the papers, but it was only a single mark. Hoping for similar results to January. How were yours? You had Core 4 and STEP I last week, right? How did you find those?

C4 and STEP I went quite well (bar one small slip in C4). My chem 2 and s2 exams went awfully though; I've counted up at least 10 raw marks on each due to careless errors, not counting whatever else I've missed. But then I'll have to wait for grade boundaries to see what the end result is. I hate careless errors
but there's nothing I can do about it now, so the countdown/ wait begins
