What is the culture like there ? The atmosphere ?

Are there many ethnic minorities there ?

What is the lifestyle like there compared to mainstream English life ?

    More conservative/traditional in outlooks.
In terms of schooling there a far fewer ethnic minorities. Eg. In my primary school I had 1 korean kid and that was it
Lifestyle is the same really, only major difference I can think of nowadays is the occasional sectarian acts of violence and the over reliance on public sector jobs (loads and loads and loads of teachers lol)

Depends on what you consider an ethnic minority - the Catholics were badly treated and considered subhuman by certain quarters of the Unionists for quite some time.

This pretty much sums it up, we tend to be more traditional when it comes to things like family. Apart from that things aren't that different really.

I do remember hearing on the radio once that we had the greatest number of BMWs per head outside Germany...

it's pretty similar to the rest of the UK. Worth a visit if you're planning on staying in the UK but want to try something a little further afield, but you won't see anything too different to what you can see in England
