Re: The Last Religion On Earth
Islam (after the arrival of Jesus Christ in Syria)
Islam is still the fastest growing religion in the world. And Muslims believe in the second coming of Jesus too.(Original post by justmyopinions)
Judaism is one of the oldest religions, so I can see that lasting. Islam, Hinduism and Buddhism will all last.
But Christianity is followed by over two billion, and is found in much of the worlds literature, history and art, both old and modern.
Jesus is my saviour.
People will vote for their religion. -

But I still don't like sharia law and the merging of state and religion which Islam wants, so I still see it as non/desirable.
And maybe not for long, many Arab countries will be as developed as Europe in 100 years time I bet, and development = atheism.Last edited by justmyopinions; 18-05-2012 at 18:43. -
Re: The Last Religion On Earth
LOL, regrettably it's probably Islam due to the fact that the ultimate aim of their religion will be achieved in the restoration of the caliphate and we'll all get blown up if we don't convert and live under Sharia Law.

I voted in Buddhism in a vain desperation anyway, but an atheist world would be perfect. -
Re: The Last Religion On Earthwhere have you obtained these figures from ?(Original post by justmyopinions)
26,000 people per day convert to christianity in the devloping world, 19,000 MORE than who leave. 6 Million African Muslims convert to Christianity each year. Many people in Eastern Asia also convert per year. It's the fastest growing religion in the developing world

Re: The Last Religion On Earthdevelopment=atheism? Is it only today that you can say that sort of bull**** or didn't you bother and see down history if what you say is true. It is true to a certain degree when other religions like Christianity is concerned (think of the Dark Ages).(Original post by justmyopinions)
Ah interesting

in the Muslim world it has been totally the contrary. Islam = development (whatever bloody **** that is happening in the Middle East has been caused due to the SUPPRESSION of Islam. During the so called Dark Ages when the Muslim World was in its golden age of development Islam was at its strongest.
When non-Muslim states become secular they become more developed. But when Muslim states become secular there is always one problem or another (to restore stability). That is because atheism is the first step in Islam (there's is no God) and believing is the next. When you go higher you become more stable when you go back you become disturbed and there is chaos. Europe has embraced secularism (which is a good I think, think of popes) but when the Middle East does that it causes havoc. (it did that because of colonialism of the crusaders not long ago) -
Re: The Last Religion On EarthMiddle East has never embraced secularism, there are always a large number of Muslims who believe it is "evil", which is disturbing. And you're very very wrong. Secularism means science is more embraced and more development occurs. And how can being an athiest make you disturbed? And the problem when Muslim countries turn secular is the anger put out by Muslims, so not the secularisation, OBVIOUSLY.(Original post by StUdEnTIGCSE)

And your statement about popes, make more sense of that?
Sharia Law over democracy does not equal more development, so take some time to stop being brainwashed and see that, in fact, atheism = more development.
Edit: your statement about the steps of Islam being implemented is the most lol thing I've read.
Edit: with the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, tourism is declining which means a poorer economy. Way to be proven wrong.Last edited by justmyopinions; 18-05-2012 at 19:12. -
Re: The Last Religion On EarthI'll post when I'm not on IPad.(Original post by Roshniroxy)
where have you obtained these figures from ?
Make sure you know what counts as the developing world, though, otherwise the statistics are blown out of proportion a little. -
Re: The Last Religion On EarthWell you take "secularism" as embracing science over religion. You can say that when any other religion other than Islam. Nothing in the Quran contradicts science (to the best of my knowledge).(Original post by justmyopinions)

Yes a large number of Muslims believe being unconscious of God's being is an "evil". I would surely have been a rapist and a thug if not for my fear of God, believe me or not. For a Muslim (most Muslims follow Islam blindly but I have being rationally and scientifically proven that Islam is the truth) being secular is to put this earthly life in front of the afterlife, and even though this seems comfortable it would not last long.
If democracy means a government for the people and by the people a true democracy in a Muslim country would have what you would call Islamist as rulers, because most Muslims want Islam and the State joined.
Sharia Law does not diminish development. Study History!! -
Re: The Last Religion On EarthActually, as an atheist, I know that secularism, not atheism, equals development. Atheism doesn't have anything to do with science.(Original post by justmyopinions)

Remember the USSR? Atheism was promoted by the State, and yet, the scientific progress in the Soviet Union was yonks behind the West. Lysenko was a Soviet 'scientist' whose works on crops was a huge failure, yet Stalin adopted his theories to demonstrate the superiority of 'socialist' science. Both biology and chemistry were severely damaged under the atheistic Soviet regime, although physics escaped due to the focus on nuclear bombs and technology.
Secularism, whether in 19th century Europe, or modern day America/Israel/India/China, usually produces the best results in terms of progress.
It's always important to distinguish between secularism and atheism. -
Re: The Last Religion On Earth
Islam.
The Quran has never been changed.
Muslims accept what it says - they don't change it to what they want. Therefore it is 'preserved'.
Unlike other religions e.g. Christianity where there is the Old testament, New testament etc..
Therefore Islam, in my opinion is the only religion which is 'eternal' if you like.
Just an opinion

Re: The Last Religion On EarthUnfoertunately, it is a dying religion who's numbers are merely in the thousands. Sad, for such a noble religion(Original post by concubine)
Also, why no Zoroastrianism? ;<<<,, -
Re: The Last Religion On EarthYou're kidding right? It was changed so many times throughout the lifetime of Prophet Mohammed and it was only put together 30 years after his death.(Original post by Luminique)

Actually, as an atheist, I know that secularism, not atheism, equals development. Atheism doesn't have anything to do with science.

Re: The Last Religion On Eartherm, yeah because the New Testament was after Jesus, it hasn't been changed since... The Old testament is there for before Jesus' time, the New testament is the Chritsian book, and is 2000 years old (older than Islam).(Original post by Luminique)

And they don't change it because, according to them, it was written by God. However, Christianity can apply to more people as it is possible to change it. Everyone knows Gays are not evil, therefore you can be a Christian and support Gay rights as homosexuality is natural, and God has never said otherwise. -
Re: The Last Religion On EarthThis made my day.(Original post by Time Tourist)
AKA the "What religion are you?" thread.
Also Judaism because I think that as long as your mother is jewish you are also classed as jewish even if you don't believe in it.
