What are the questions/topics, which are most likely to come up at the end???
the last question has a high probability of being a triangle question

cosine rule sine rule etc.

possibly a vector question but a triangle question seems likely

The last question is usually the harder question; I guess it will be like May 2011 - areas and shapes, and you have to show something.

guys i need your help urgently! my maths exam is in like 4 hours and im stuck on surds, any suggestions
and i need help with this question
show that the square root of 3 + square root of 27divided by the square root of 2 can be xpressed in the form square root of K where k is an integer.
state the value of K.
11th january 2012 3H paper

thank youuu:smile:

Firstly you have to know that 27= 9 x 3 so it is 3xsquare root of 3
so the square root of 3 + 3xsquare root of 3= 4xsquare root of 3
To get a surd of the denominator then you have to multiply the whole fraction by the square root of 2
then you get 4xsquare root of 6 divided by 2
then divide the surd by 2 to get 2xsquare root of 6

and to get 2xsquare root of 6 back into just a square root you do 2 squared x 6= square root of 24

Hope this makes sense and good luck!

How did everyone find paper 3H? I found it quite hard and challenging. How did you guys find it? Anyone has ideas of what the grade boundaries for A*/A will be for paper 3H may 2012?
I found everything easy except for Q18.

Can anyone tell me if I did this right for the India percentage question:

For the India question I did 17+20=37 and then 37 plus the original 20 = 57 to get the final answer. Is that right?
