    Student Finance- Bursaries and grants
Not sure if this is in the right place, but i'm sure it'll get moved if i'm wrong.

I was just wondering when you start to hear if you qualify for the maintenance grant and any university bursaries? I'm definitely below the income threshold, and sent off my finance agreement a few weeks ago but still haven't heard anything...

My maintenance loan and tuition fee loan have already been confirmed- is there anything else I need to do, or do I just need to keep waiting?

It takes up to 6 weeks to hear about the maintenance grant. For university bursaries it depends on the university, you need to check if you need to apply or Student Finance automatically tell them who is/isn't eligible and also how/when you find out.

When you are on the direct.gov website to do your student finance. You are given the option to go with either non-income assessed financial support (just the maintenance loan). Or go with income assessed (means tested) financial support which will check your eligibility for the grant.

As for any bursaries from the National Scholarship Programme etc... If you ticked, "I agree for my financial information to be shared with my university or college". Then the uni or college will know what you are entitled to and should contact you accordingly.

Unless the income for your household if below £16,000 you need to apply for the NSP yourself by contacting the university... Its format ranges, but if you have a VERY low income its normally a £1000 cash package or something. If you have a larger income then they knock money off accommodation and things like that.

    Meh,
