NEED NEW ANSWERS: Are my GCSEs UCL material?
Soon I will be applying to university and I don't think my poor GCSEs will get me into my dream university, UCL.

I have A*A*AAAABB at GCSE. The A*s are in English Literature (the subject I wish to study as at degree level) and Spanish. However, three of the GCSEs taken were taken so in my AS level (Maths - Higher and Science) and A2 years (Spanish) to up my GCSE total to a total of eight. Will this hinder me?

I am taking English Literature (A), Politics (A), Economics (A) and Law (A) at A level. I am wondering if I am UCL material, given my GCSEs.

Your GCSEs are definitely fine for UCL. Although I say "definitely", nothing is "definite" with universities, but I'm pretty sure you'll be OK. Although English is v competitive, so make sure your personal statement is a don and you do achieve four As at AS. Good luck x

    Haha

A-Level Maths is... going interestingly... I have no idea why they made us do Mechanics. It is hell. Sheer hell. At least I get to do S1 next year.

Yep... Maths is the bane of my life. I felt quite happy earlier as I'd got through most of the hardest questions in my M1 textbook... then I tried a past paper and now I feel doomed. I'm calling on Zeus to deliver me a B...
