It's really hard to say, it could just be your hormones. Bipolar is looking more and more like a complex neurological disorder which has more in common with epilepsy and migraine than say depression what we would normally regard as mental illness. If you suffer from regular migraine or epilepsy then I think that would be an extra warning sign. The problem is that it's unlikely you can just get checked out, bipolar people are normally not aware that they are ill they just spin out on one or at least that is what I do. When I'm like that I feel like I'm the only one talking any sense at time and it takes other people to spot that my behaviour is not normal. Basically if you have a manic episode your family and friends will notice pretty quickly something is seriously wrong and will take you to see a doctor, probably against your will.

Right first off let me start by saying im not 100% i am bipolar and this is why i made this thread.
On every online test i have scored a high percentage towards being bipolar i haven't and don't want a doctors opinion (Stupid i know) my career choice would just be destroyed. I have very eratic mood swings and most of the time im like a duracell bunny acting like a 12 year old it doesn't bother me but over the past months the moods have turned into anger, irritation i snap at people and have no reason too and it has lost me a good few friends. So my question is if i don't get checked out and i am bipolar whats the worst that can happen?
Serious answers please
If you just feel eratic and moody then it could well be a hormone or blood sugar thing. If you go to your GP and say you think you are bipolar they will probably not agree, but they may invite you to have some blood tests for various things.
If you really are bipolar than sooner or later your illness will make itself apparent to everyone around you.
