Do I have an inferiority complex?
Hi, I'm trying to decide whether I have an inferiority complex, or am I just over thinking this? I'm talking about my perceived insecurity pertinent to my height. This comes as comments have been made about me by my peers.

At 5'1", I don't exactly tower over many people - but I have to say, the agility aspect is simply awesome - I know how to use my height to my advantage. However, I'm wanting to know if my perceptions of the disadvantages of my height are causing me to (if I do) compound others with my projection.

I am a person who will not sit back and watch someone screw something up; i.e, I want to, and will often lead in situations - I believe that I am self confident in that respect, and I believe in myself. That said, I do not, and do not consciously force my beliefs on those around me - if you don't know, I am a quiet person, but if you know me, and I am comfortable with you, then I am a very social person.

I do go to the gym, however, for me, that is purely because I know that to maintain a healthy lifestyle, I need to exercise - but also, due to my occupation, I do need to be able to have some strong muscles to be able to perform some controls.

I note that I am aware of other's perception of me - I am a person who is very self conscious about how others view me. Though I am naturally shy and will not look to fight, I will stand my ground and my stick up for my friends when required. Make no mistake, I am quite a powerful person - and I have body flight.

Now, do I feel like I need to always impress others? In a way, yes - because I want to project an image of myself that reflects how hard working I am - so I will work as hard as I can to achieve the high scores in exams etc. Do I do this to prove myself? I don't feel like I do - I think that I'm a great person, in terms of personality, and I am a very gently and subtle person.

Due to my upbringing, where I had elocution lesson, any prose written, including letters and formal email and speeches or in general talk, I will often use words not included in a standard everyday vocabulary - and often, people have commented how I talk or write "like a lawyer". It is not intentional, per se, but due the instilled values I gained.

So, what is your opinion of me, do I have an inferiority complex related to my seemingly short stature?

I seem to be a roller coaster with this, sometimes I'm happy with my height, sometimes I'm really insecure

Nope, you're human and everybody - even the happy sunshine child that seems to be content about their physical appearance and life in general will have those ups and downs

and as for feeling like you need to impress everybody, that's part of our nature too. anyone that says they don't care about what others think is lying.. however if it's like needy for approval then might want to look into not giving f**k
