    Uh yes I did.
I find that hard to believe. Every non-Unted fan and their nan hates United.

I bet the whole country (apart from Liverpool fans) were laughing and enjoying Istanbul 2005 when they were down 3-0.

I want Bayern to win because every Chelsea fan I know wanted us to lose in Istanbul, wanted United to lose to Barca etc. It's just the way it is.

I don't understand this. I was in Germany a few days ago and EVERY football fan I met, Bayern supporter or not, wanted them to beat Chelsea. Back in UK it's like half the people passionately want Chelsea to lose.

I understand the logic that Bayern might play "better" football but still, I can't believe how many British people are not supporting Chelsea. I might be a bit bias because I support Chelsea myself but even in the past I've always supported the British team.

This isn't just in football. In tennis, some people are happy to see Andy Murray lose every match. In cricket, some people are happy to support countries like India and Australia over England even if we're the better team. In the World Cup, football, rugby or cricket, there are always people who want us to lose.

I wasn't even born in this country but I support England and any British team whenever they play against anyone else. Why the hate people? Some Germans didn't believe me when I told them that people back home were supporting Bayern yet here it seems so common.

say Celtic were to make the champions league final against... for example Marseille, a team no Rangers fan has any love for in the slightest due to some history between the two.
I will support Marseille with every inch of my being.
    Why?

    Because what would I prefer:

Me thinking to myself "hey scottish football isn't so bad! we have a club that's the best in Europe playing here?"

Or every single Celtic fan going "waaaaaaaay **** you Rangers we're the best in europe you're ****!!!!!"

I tell you what, I know a lot more Celtic fans that I do Marseille fans

This is just further evidence of what I'm talking about. I don't mean just the Chelsea haters, a lot of Chelsea fans want other British teams to lose as well. This is the case across the entire country.

I almost cried when Liverpool scored that third goal. I wanted them to win but that just created a soft spot in my heart for Liverpool and since then I've always wanted them to do well, especially now since one of my favourite player of all time is managing them.

I do hate Man Utd against almost every team in the PL but whenever they play a team from another country, I'd rather they win so we have as many British teams as possible in the competition.

So you'd rather see one of the biggest trophies in the world go to another country than yours, just because you're not a fan of Chelsea? We have the best league in the world, shouldn't people be happy that a team from our country is doing so well?

As for your analogy, to come through two matches scoring more goals than the best team in history if anything you should admire Chelsea's guts.
    a) nope there not Liverpool the cl is our territory
    b) i dont remember them scoring more goals than us twice :/

I'm struggling to think of a club with as many abhorent individuals as the current Chelsea set up, that coupled with the poor support and forgettable 'football' is why I'll be cheering on Bayern.

Re: Why are so many British people supporting Bayern over Chelsea?
Why would I want to see a rival club do well? If they won the Champions League they'd get more money and attract better players.

That doesn't really matter though, I just don't like Chelsea at all. If it was Arsenal in the final I still wouldn't want them to win but I wouldn't begrudge them a victory as much as I would Chelsea.

People are trying to paint Chelsea out as some "hero underdogs" who have "overcome the odds" to get to the final. Bollox. They're a plastic club who really should be dominating after all the money Roman's invested. Just because they've been **** despite spending millions and have benefited from prematurely sacking ANOTHER manager, miraculously making the Champions League does not make them admirable at all.

They are rotten top to bottom. Owner who interferes too much (without whose money they would not be a top team), players who think they know better than the manager and fans who boo through a minutes silence for the Hillsborough victims. Don't get me wrong, I like Di Matteo, some of the players and the Chelsea fans I know personally are decent people but the negatives of the club far outweigh the positives.

So yeah, that's why I want Bayern to annihilate them.

I'm sure the Bundesliga would be more than happy to dispute that title.

This. When Rangers were in the Europa league, I read up on my new favourite club Zenit .

I am a Chelsea fan and I agree.

As mentioned I think this year there is mixed emotions because of the implications that it could have on Arsenal, Tottenham, Newcastle. However, in previous years it makes me proud when I see 4 English teams in the quarter finals. Hell if we had an all English semi-final I'd love that. I want English football to dominate European football and show the world that the Premier League is THE best league in the world.

I'd root for any English team to do well in Europe, apart from Tottenham 'coz I can't ****ing stand them. But I guess that comes from the local rivalry... That said, I was pretty devastated when W.Ham got demoted...

    Liverpool?

Suarez - eye gouges and kicks Parker in the stomach. Bit a player. Pushed over a referee (even Roy Keane didn't do that). Handled Ghana's would-be goal showing that cheating is, on the whole, more profitable than honesty.
Carroll - alleged to have beat his girlfriend.
Downing - did actually beat his girlfriend from what I've heard.
Gerrard - smashed up a DJ because he wouldn't play his favourite song.

Don't know what you mean by poor support because fans' definitions may vary.

Do you support everyone but England for the forgettable football then? :/

Because I want to see the team that actually goes out to play football win. The better Chelsea do with their anti-football strategy the more likely other teams are to try it, which would ruin alot of games.

I'm not trying to offend you but I've only witnessed this mindset in Britain. I lived in Madrid for a few years a while back and as you know most people from that city hate Barca with a passion but even then, a lot of them were supporting Barca over any PL team in the Champions League because they wanted their country to have the trophy. We hardly ever see this in the UK.
Wouldn't worry. It's like when many Scottish people declare their support for anyone but England in the international stage but that probably has more justification to it. Germany is different because of the history of the country having been split into East and West. You'll have more supporters in Holland supporting Chelsea than non-Chelsea fans supporting Chelsea in England. And I thought only Evertonians were bitter.

I hate Chelsea and would love to see their players cry.

I'd like to see them slaughtered by a classy German team. Hopefully that will happen :yep:

    - Without Abramovic and his millions they wouldn't get anywhere near the final.
    - Bayern are standout performers, having gone unbeaten in tougher groups and convincingly beating the team that pipped Barcelona to the league.
    - Its in Munich, and destiny would appear on Bayern's side more than Chelseas for that reason. I'm not a slave to the English media bull****e that Chelsea have more passion etc, when Bayern's efforts are completely ignored in the tabloids.
    - Could stop Tottenham from being in the CL.
    - I had many fans, Chelsea supporters included suddenly turning into part time Barca fans and launching all sorts of wind ups when United were in the final last year. I will definately do the same this year to them.

wait, I haven't heard of any British person who doesn't want Andy Murray to win. Obviously there are those who admire Nadal and the other great players, and want nadal to win in his games. But are there really british people that would want andy to lose against them?

Chelea set out in the semi-final to win. Defending is as much a part of football as attacking is so I fail to see it as "anti-football".

Have they been playing "anti-football" all season? What about Napoli?

I have, because he's Scottish and wraps the Scottish flag around him after a match and not the Union flag. In the words of Pitchshifter, "This is not the United Kingdom".

It's not my opinion. He can use whatever flag he wants.

I think I'm probably supporting Chelsea. Although I'd be surprised if Chelsea won it. Bayern are the better team, they should win, although should and doing are entirely different matters, as was the case with Chelsea vs Barca.

Ramires is going to be a big loss for Chelsea.

I want Newcastle and Tottenham to get CL football next season, it looks unlikely they'll both get it so at least one deserves it, not the team that looks set to finish 6th.
