Deleted thread: So now we don't even discuss crime when it's "the wrong people"?!
There was a thread at http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/show...6#post37456706 titled "'8 pakistanis one afghan convicted of grooming/raping/abusing young girls" discussing that particular news and current affair matter. It's pretty relevant, it's in all the papers, been headline news, it was the main interview on Today this morning.
It's now been deleted. Do things not get discussed when it's politically inconvenient? Was it too "off-message"?
Best to sweep these things under the carpet and hope that by not discussing them we can all bury our head in the sand.
Honestly, this place is turning into The Guardian... -

The moderators on this website are incredibly overzealous, and are on a massive ego-trip.
so true!
but yes OP, i do see and perhaps even agree with what you're saying. -
Re: Deleted thread: So now we don't even discuss crime when it's "the wrong people"?!Would it matter if it had? The the pointless flame war posts should have been deleted and a warning put up or the thread locked while everyone cooled down.(Original post by silverbolt)
did the thread degenerate into a flame war that amounted to nothing more than "bloody muzzies" vs "love and hugs for all"
That would probably explain why it was deleted it if it erupted into that
There were lots of facts posted in there; now the whole thread and some very useful information (in particular some links pointing the Guardian cover-up over this story) have been lost (thank goodness for Evernote

Re: Deleted thread: So now we don't even discuss crime when it's "the wrong people"?!The mods are lazy, they would rather just delete the whole thread instead of sifting through every post trying to determine whether it should be deleted or not.(Original post by digitaltoast)

Someone actually quoted me (the OP) but by the time I tried to check the thread was gone. And now I'll never know what he said to me.
