It's part of the 'Scouse not English'

I'm a Liverpool fan myself. Don't really see a big problem... If you hold that mentality then so be it

I don't, for the record, but ofc I do not live in Liverpool
    Ever been to Liverpool?

Why am I not surprised
Mmmm yes because the fact supporting Liverpool has run through my family for 70 odd years has nothing to do with it

OOT talk is stupid. Where the hell do people think their club would be if they ONLY had supporters in their city

Nope, I am 18 and earning £50 a week for 50 hours work. Now tell me how I can afford to get to Liverpool and back on that with bills/rent

People need to stop being so naive.

    It's called having respect.

You don't have to sing it if you don't want too.

But booing it is very disrespectful to our country.
Respect is a two way street.

    GSTQ is incredibly right wing.

IF the rest of england wants to look down on Scousers thats fine by us. Just don't expect us to care about your stupid ****ing queen.

I don't think some people on here realise what people like Thatcher did to the Liverpool psyche.

Liverpool was treated like absolute **** (after centuries of being one of centres of British economic growth) and sacrificed on the alter of monetarism.

Take your GSTQ and shove it up your home counties arse. I certainly don't like singing a song about some ****ing family of inbreds.
That was in the 80s though. And as I said there were more scousers were there in 2009 when Everton were in the final and it never got booed. It is LFC related not Liverpool the city related.

Damn right. When the establishment treats the city and its fans like they continually do then its hardly surprising when that city gets a chance to stick two fingers up back at it.

I think he quite clearly stated in the post above that his family have supported Liverpool for over 70 years.

Seems like a good enough reason to me.

Football would be a lot better for it.

It would be much more even and more clubs could win the title.

It wouldn't be dominated by a few elite clubs every year.

LFC has always been a more socialist club than Everton, that's why.

And turn the 'more scousers' **** in. Theres so many Everton fans in Liverpool you can't sell out your stadium. Makes sense.

if liverpool fans say they are scouse not english, why are they contesting in english leagues and cups? typical. i think they should contest on scouse cups and leagues oh wait.

you would never see everton fans booing, so its only those deldued lfc fans.

You must be on crack then.

If the rest of your family have a fairly long history of supporting a certain club, chances are you too would grow up supporting that club from a young age. Naturally that normally continues into your adult life.

    Seems perfectly reasonable to me.

I just feel I'm communicating with an idiot since I have to spell it out for you like that.

It's a fact. There would have been more scousers there in 2009. And don't talk about empty seats. All it took was a few poor games under Hodgson last season and there were empty seats at Anfield.

And how are Liverpool a more socialist club than Everton anyway?

So because I don't agree with you i'm on crack? Interesting theory there.

Supporting a club who you have never been to watch is idiotic.

Yes, you must be. There is no other plausible explanation for it.

Well, I'm guessing he watches them on TV/internet. Just like millions of EPL fans all around the world.

It's not impossible to take a liking to a team you have never met or watched in person.

I don't even know why I'm entertaining this.

Just going to back up that it's not a scouse thing, it's an LFC thing.

Everton didn't boo the national anthem in 2009 - I was there - and the vast majority of our fanbase is obviously scouse. We don't have the same kind of victim mentality that a large part of the Liverpool fanbase has.
