    KCL or UCL for English??
    Hi

once again, it's one of these posts 'I simply cannot decide....". I got offers from Warwick, Bristol, Manchester, Queen Mary and KCL and UCL, all for english except ucl who offered me comparative literature. It's down to UCL and KCL. Both programmes sound amazing but i just cannot choose one over the other. I just don't know what to expect from comparative literature. Any input is helpful....

I'm thinking of applying to King's for Comparative literature, and I think either there or UCL would be good. According to the RAE, UCL is slightly better http://www.guardian.co.uk/education/...english-degree. What classification was your undergrad degree? Queen Mary only accept very strong applicants for their English/literature courses and in terms of reputation I think it is the 'best' institution out of those you have listed. King's is cheaper than UCL, if that helps...

Thx a lot! I got an english language and literature bachelor with art history as a minor from germany. i didn't expect to get that many offers and now i have to make a decision quite quick since most offers expire next week

I didn't know queen mary only takes very strong applicants, i actually already excluded it from my list

In terms of money, I don't really care whether kings is cheaper than ucl, it's just so hard to compare those two since i got offers for two different programmes. I was pretty surprised when ucl said that my application was unsuccessful but then offered me a spot in a totally different programme i didn't apply to.

    Have you already applied?

This generally comes down to nothing but opinion. KCL really is my vote, but it just depends on you.

UCL; English isnt a particularly employable degree so go with the best brand name if you want to get a job afterwards
