Around this time last year, I noticed that my hips would be extremely achy and painful if I was ever stood/sat/laying in the same position for more than about 30 minutes or so. Eventually, this started happening to my knees, too
This made simple things like going shopping, to gigs or even doing my work (I'm an art student) very difficult. I put it down to the fact that I was about 3st overweight. I had gained the weight really quickly over a few months and assumed that maybe my hips were just finding it hard to support the extra weight daily. I spent all of last summer eating right and exercising to get down to a healthy weight - I lost about 3 and a half stones. I've managed to maintain my new healthy weight just fine and hips seemed to be better for a few months, until it started again, but worse - which brings me to now. I'm completely miserable because I can't do day-to-day stuff without being in a lot of pain.
I find that exercising, such as running for 20-25mins a few times a week, helps, but if I do too much, they just hurt again. Obviously, I'm booking a doctors appointment, but does anyone have any idea what it can be/why this is happening? Thanks.
Hip and leg pain can cause stress on joints and affect other areas of the body. Hip and knee pain and hip and shoulder pain are conditions that shouldn't be ignored. Go to your doctor as soon as you can. Medication will hopefully help, and you should take more rest.
