    Help with Photoshop!
    Hi,

I have to create a montage for a project and have got stuck using Photoshop. I only really use it for slight adjustments such as lighting, colour etc..

I'm nowhere near finished editing this but does anyone know how I can make the landscape not look so obviously cut and pasted?

    Any help would much appreciated!

    Thanks
    Amy

Yes, I made a jpeg and used tinypic to add the photo to my post. I don't know how to add photos any other way.

    Sorry, I'm a bit useless.

Is it meant to show a city on the moon? If so, you've made the earth far too big - that's what stood out when I looked at it, not that the landscape is obviously cut and pasted.

It's supposed be any planet but I guess it makes more sense that it would be the moon.

How much smaller should the earth be?

Thanks for your reply by the way.

Well, this is a photo of an earth-rise, so that's the sort of size it should be. http://eoimages.gsfc.nasa.gov/images...4-6548_lrg.jpg

For future reference, you can upload PSDs via DropBox.com

As for le design, not bad. Some dodgy geometry but it's a good concept.

Gotta sort out the size of the Earth.

And I suggest you select the layer with the buildings and Free Transform Wrap it so form a horizon concave line rather than a straight line.

I also would adjust the light curves from the Image> Adjustment menu.

I would then adjust the Blue curve slightly to give it a colder more alien look.

Thanks for that. I'll try and sort that out.

I think one of the issues with the landscape is the lighting. It's well lit in the middle-distance but dim in the far distance, and doesn't obviously conform to any believable light source. Given the position of the terminator on the planet (I don't think the size of the planet is a problem, artistic license can afford the discrepancy) the city will have to be in night - choosing a better source photo of a city's landscape at night might really help.
