don't get me wrong, I buy a lot of clothes but 65% of my weekly budget is going out/alcohol

I think it's silly people spend it on clothes/alcohol etc because university is a really great way of learning how to handle money for later life. Blowing the loan on lots of new clothes and nights out so you're left with nothing decent to eat, to my mind, is a bit irresponsible. Balance is key.
