How do you do somatic gene therapy and germ-line gene therapy?

We don't have to learn the methods.

Just know SOMATIC is change of alleles in BODY cells and they need constant repeats because these body cells are replaced over time eg. epithelial cells of CF sufferers. GERMLINE is change of alleles in SEX cells and ensures that neither organisms or offspring will ever suffer from the disease again.

PS: Could you please edit the thread and make this some sort of official thread for Unit 1 discussion so that we dont see different threads asking for this?

Somatic gene therapy is done by using viruses, liposomes etc as vectors. Germ line gene therapy is illegal and hence not done.
