But you have no issue with old women being able to have sex with 14 year old boys?

It's exactly the same situation and equally as repulsive.
    what about MILFS ?:O

Yeah true, but like I'm 17. Say I was to have sex with a 15 year old girl and then we had a bad breakup and she went to the police and told them, what's the chances of me actually being punished?
quite high actually especially if she can prove and the parents get involved.

You're a bigot and a sexist if you think that the law should differentiate between supposedly different attitudes.

It's attitudes like this which stem all the misandry and much of the misogyny of our society.

You cannot simply present males as oppressors and females as victims. You certainly cannot legislate this way.

If a boy (14) has sex with a woman (30) HE HAS BEEN ABUSED, regardless of how grateful he may be and she should be punished accordingly.
    I'm not a bigot, I'm a realist.
From the cases I have seen and read about in regards to this area of the law women aren't punished nearly as hard as men are, nor are there nearly as many cases where an older woman has had sex with a young boy in comparison to men having sex with young boys or girls.
Whether you like it, the law can and does differentiate.

I'm all for equality but if you ask me the situations can be wildly different and I don't think we should ignore that. We aren't exactly the same, hormone levels can have a huge effect on how someone acts, and during the years when hormonal activity is at it's peak? Well.
It doesn't make us who we are but it has an influence.

So because they're currently not punished as hard, it's less morally reprehensible?

Nothing would ever change if we just took the current laws as perfect.

If you are letting the law of the land dictate what is right and what is wrong then you are a bigot.

How rare something is also does not dictate how harshly it should be punished.

Feel free to sympathise with child-abusing women if you want. I'm not wasting any more of my time arguing with such a moronic stance.

Yeah I think so, if society punishes them less it's safe to say they think so too. Of course no one would admit to it. Morality isn't a solid framework, it's based on what society deems right and wrong.

You can think I'm a bigot all you like, we're all prejudiced against one group or another and it only becomes bigotry when society doesn't accept it. I personally take the view we should accept everyone, regardless of how bad a person is, and try to educate them. But there you go.

I'm not sympathising with anyone, and not to worry, I daren't waste my time with close minded fools like yourself, I've said all I have to say. You seem to be afraid to question anything, afraid to try and understand the true meaning of morality, close mindedness will get you nowhere. We only move forward when we think differently.

and if the girl is 15 years and 364 days and the boy is 16 years exact it's rape, whats the difference?
    (Original post by FinalMH)
Under current law you would be charged with statutory rape. Would you be punished for it would depend on evidence. A girl can't just shout rape without any evidence to back up her calm.
If we're talking about English law, wrong. Consensual sex with a 15 year old is not rape, or statutory rape, it's "Sexual activity with a child". While it's illegal, the laws do not describe it as rape.

I think that if you take the phrase "Age of consent" literally, the age of consent in England is actually 13, as 13-16 year olds are considered capable of consenting to sex. It's just that it's still illegal to have sex with them, even though they have consented.
